Love this place. Every time one goes it's always a great experience. Been going since was little. Always nice to take new people to experience as well 😊
Good food and atmosphere. Some entree menu items seem a bit pricey for the quality of the dish. Delicious guacamole & hand-made tortillas.
Just delicious! Love the atmosphere and the food. Great staff and service - within the 10 minutes of sitting down we got our drink and our food. Highly recommended for some really good eats ^_^ask for Alan 😁
My favorite Mexican food. Don't take that lightly as I am from Texas, and have now lived in Cali for close to a year, so I know good Mexican food. This is it. Wife loves the margaritas, and they have big ones for multiple people. Every time some family or friends come to town we bring them to this Mexican restaurant. Delicious.
My family left the "where to eat" decision to me because I usually do a pretty good job, but not this time. The staff was friendly but did completely forget to bring an order to one of the six people in our party, and didn't notice. Four of the six people in our party did not like their food. My boyfriend and my mom each got the protein bowl and they both looked like soup, and barely had any meat in them. It looked like slop. They each ate maybe a quarter of their food and then were done. I ordered the loaded burrito and it could have been good, but it was cold. Not because of the sour cream, everything in it just seemed like it had been sitting for a while? My sister ordered a simple caesar salad and it was super dry. The only reason I am giving this place two starts is because the margarita ("Perfect For Two") my boyfriend and I shared was really well made. So props to the bar. And the decor was cool. But there are probably a lot of Mexican places around this one that have just as good of a bar and better food, and service. I left really embarrassed that I decided on this place.
Fantastic food for a reasonable price. Rice were cooked right along with beans and there chese. There pulled beef contain a bit of fat (Which is great if your a fan). But overall cooked well. They offer Pepsi products. But no coke. Overall is a great place with the taste of authentic Mexican food. Haven't tried there margaritas but I'm sure next time I will try.
Although Labor day the wait was short. Service was fast and friendly. The Burrito Especial Supreme gets you your money's worth in food and taste. Nice little craft beer selection on tap. The salsa is fresh and brings a touch of heat. Guacamole is fantastic.
The atmosphere is filled with limes and the smell of freshly made tortillas by hand as you wait in a not to fast not to slow line to meet the hostess and get your table. We went on a Saturday afternoon it's expected! I could go into great detail about the food and the "Best Margaritas" in town. But as your guide, the experience can't be explainedyou just have to be there to know see it. Enjoy ;)
Food, atmosphere, and service. HUGE portions and food was extremely taste. Didn't drink one, but the margaritas look intense! Was nice having a soda in a large glass! And then the chips and salsa, Awesome! Salsa was a perfect blend of spices, just got enough!
This place was good. Fun environment. We got placed in a room that we were the first ones there so it was good. Then a very loud party came in and we couldn't hear each other talk. We didn't stay and linger because of that. The food was excellent and they gave hearty portions.
The best tortillas I've ever had. The wait for the food was a little long but the waiter was very polite and gave is extra tortillas. Chicken a la creme was pretty good. Very crowded once we arrived but cleared out around 9pm.
Must visit in San Diego. Food and margaritas are phenomenal. The decor will steal your eyes. Even though it's a BIG restaurant, waiters are very attentive you needs and helpful in choosing menu. Will definitely go back again
Good food. Good drink. They were very busy the day we visited so our waiter was not very attentive to our needs. We had preschoolers with our group and someone came out to tell us that the kids need to stay seated and not be in the way. However if they were faster with food, and more attentive to our needs, the kids would not have been so bored
I want to Thank Cafe Coyote for a great day. I had my 70th Birthday celebration there. We had great food, drink and service. Oscar was an excellent waiter considering serving all 20 of us that were drinking. Great atmosphere and the weather was a beautiful California day. Thanks again have been there before and will continue to go there..
I came here for the first time with my better half who had been here before. Both the food and service was great and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. The restaurant itself is huge with a lot of open air seating to enjoy that nice San Diego weather. Two guitar players came by and sang us a song for a tip which was quite fun. My favorite part was the giant margaritas. And good god they are giant. I was promised that they were as big as my face, and as someone with a big face I was skeptical. But oh no, they were as big as my face. I included a picture with a nacho for scale. Plus after finishing just one I had a perfect buzz for cruising through Old Town.
