Mid-level, a bit dated. Decent tapas. Nice in a pinch. Less than good service.

Went here for my engagement party. Had a fantastic atmosphere. Phenomenal food and tapas, as well as a great beer selection. Very knowledgeable and friendly servers. I will continue frequenting Cafe Iberico and recommend that others stop in for an authentic Spainish cuisine while in Chicago.

One of the most famous Spanish restaurants.
It offers a great variety of Spanish cosine options.
Their tapas are great. Their sangria is awesome, both white and red.
I recommend going in groups and getting different tapas and share them all.
On the weekend there may be a long wait. Over the years the capacity has increased, but as this is one of the most famous tapas places in the city, you'll find yourself waiting specially after 9pm.response / report this review -

Good tapas and sangria, in my opinion customer service needs improvement. Our last visit we waited over 15 minute before our server came over to our table and greeted us. We also had to ask for utensils, water and plates.. things that normally a server or a busboy should be on top of.

This place used to be a go to for tapas in Chicago but that was at least 10 years ago. I'm not sure how they've stayed in business because whenever I get talked into going back, it's still terrible.
On my most recent visit, the only decent (better than mediocre) dish was the calamari (which is surprising because calamari is one that most places mess up). The patatas bravas (usually one of my favorites) were soft, dull, and uninteresting. Everything else was unremarkable. It didn't help that the servers seemed to splash water on the table every time they refilled the water. They also seemed bored when taking our order and offering to pick up used plates or bring new ones.response / report this review -

The food is good, we had a Paella Iberica, patatas and shrimp. The paella is good but I feel like there are too many peas. The Sangria is refreshing! The only complaint is that where we sat it was pretty dark and we had a hard time looking at the menu.

The patatas bravas were fantastic. As was the white wine sangria. As was the fact that they sold it by the bottle. It took us a minute to get used to the fishy smell but I would go back. The tiramisu was really good as well. Lots on the menu and affordable.

Haven't been back since before kids. Still wonderful food, but both my wife and I thought the number of items (tapas specifically) on the menu had been greatly reduced. Reasonably priced. In addition to the tapas, we got the lamb and the Iberico paella and they were great. Would give it 4 1/2 stars if I could.

I've been here several times, although not recently. The last time I dined here still is a story I tell people often - As we sat down, I asked our waiter for water, he said absolutely, right away! He came to take our order, again I asked for water. We got served the first plates, and still no water. By this time, I was extremely thirsty, which didn't pair well with the salty food. By this time I had asked for water 4 times (and to clarify, I don't mean MORE water, I mean AT ALL, we didn't even have glasses) and I noticed the table next to us was being given second glasses of water they didn't ask for alongside their full glasses of untouched water. The woman at the table exclaimed, "we don't need these waters" and I thought how much I'd like them. We were finally given water about 30 minutes after arriving. Additionally, our waiter kept approaching my dining companion from behind, leaning in behind her ear to ask her if everything was ok - which startled her each time. I had to start warning her he was approaching. It was a very uncomfortable dining experience, and I've since found nicer tapas restaurants, so I doubt I'll be back.

Food is hot and perfect, hands down. I'd rate 5 star but servers are always odd. Not rude but not up to par for this level of dining. I would def. recommend for family occasion or a date.

Great food, tons of vegetation options. Attentive staff and pretty reasonable prices. Would totally go back! I recommend the goat cheese stuffed dates.

I've been coming here for years. Never disappointed in their food. I've tried almost every dish and they're all delicious. It's hard to pick a favorite. Its pine of my favorite restaurants.

such a great place to celebrate with family. great atmosphere..great selection of delicious food and..The Sangria..wow. .must come again..I recommend the grilled calamari and beef skewers. Parking is available and not hard to find within a block radius.

Nice place to eat Spanish food, tapas are good and dessert was as well. Sangria is a must try or wine. The servers were nice but need a bit of training. The music on the second floor was not only loud but distorted, i don't mind loud if it's of good quality sound. They offer valet and is a must visit.
