This is a horrible place to get your CDL license this company does not care about the student right now my daughter has been at a motel for a whole week waiting for her trainer the motel was run down it has no working washer dryer the lambs have no light bulbs in them and the bed was broken on top of that my daughter had to provide her own transportation which used up all of her money for a $166 she has no money to eat but do you think this company cares know I’ve called a few times to see if they could send somebody out there to help her but no response
Horrible company. They do not care about you, and so not care if you suceed or fail, they get paid either way. Hotels they put you in during training are nightmares. Literally had to change rooms 3 times because of the cockroaches. They do not feed you, so bring money!! They rely on newbies to work so they dont have to pay them anything and they still get their shipments out. I suggest everyone to choose any other company
I'm going to try to make this as understandable as i can.
1. The hotel they have you stay at is absolute garbage. The staff is meh, some are helpful and polite while others may as well give you the stink eye for being there.
2. The instructors (I had Kevin - he is super helpful and a delight to work with. His attitude is upbeat and he has a great sense of humor (he is the ONLY reason I'm giving a 2 star review.)) I really can't say anything about anyone else though.
3. If you are interested in this school you NEED TO BEWARE OF THESE FOLLOWING THINGS:
3a. They DO NOT provide shuttles to ANYWHERE but the school and back to the hotel. They may tell you not to bring your car/drive yourself to the hotel, if that is the case and you chose NOT to bring your own transportion, bring funds to rent a vehicle for yourself to use.
3b. BRING ENOUGH MONEY. I can NOT stress this enough, if you run out of money for food they do NOT provide free lunches. HALF of a hoagie cost 5.00 dollars and they only offer lunch meat or tuna salad sandwhiches. Small bag of chips, muffins, and beverages are offered but NOT free.
3c. If for ANY reason you fall ill and miss 1 day, they will move you back an ENTIRE week of progress and you'll have to start all over. They do NOT take into consideration you actual progress but ONLY your attendance.
3d. They do NOT allow ANY days off (i.e. a scheduled day off to study independently.) You will have to find time while at school to study or do it when you get back to the hotel.
ALL AND ALL the instructors are helpful, but truly with how strict they are at the school you would be better off finding something local in your HOME state to do these sorts of classes.
Great company to work for. the training is very fast pace so bring ya a-game.you don't get paid while in school so bring spending moneybut soon as you hit the road it's $10 per hour in phase one and then you team in phase two. 0.14 per mile but if you have a teammate that wants to run you can make like $750 or more weekly.. yea some people speak bad about CR England but needless to say all company drivers don't make a lot unless u are on a dedicated route which means you need experience. put ya work in and trust it will pay off..
Being an older student I knew I'd hit some walls dealing with a much younger group of students. I was pleasantly surprised at the experience dedication patience these professional trainers all had.An amazing group of men and women had supported me through it all; when I achieved my CDL license they were thrilled for me. They made my dream come true to drive across this beautiful country. Thank you to all my instructorsI'll never forget youPeggy
.
I just graduated premiere and I have to say I couldn't be happier I felt like I got a good training experience I started with Ken my permit teacher he was very helpful he was a really cool and knowledgeable teacher then I went to the range which was bigger then I had seen at any other school had about 20 trucks on it my first teacher out there was Greg and he knew exactly what he was talking about as long as I followed his every direction I would get the truck where it was supposed to every time I also worked with chick and Lee for a short time 2 more teachers that knew exactly what they were talking about last but not least the office lady's were very nice and helpful Erica even called my classroom on my last day which was my birthday and sang me happy birthday on speaker phone all in all an excellent school and I am glad I went there and would recommend this school to everyone
This company is a terrible. I already had my CDL pay was 10.00 a hour for training phase 1. Phase 2 is 14 cents a mile, I was making a whopping 7.00 a hour on avg. Do not sign a contract you will get screwed. Hardly anyone sticks with this company. The pay sucks way way below other carriers. You can not make a decent living working g for CR England. Don't waste your time seriously .
On sunday morning 8:40 a.m. or monday thru friday 6:00a.m., Take the South Shore Line to Hammond Indiana, and take the Yellow line Public Transit System Bus to 321 Tech Drive in Burns Harbor Indiana.
Be careful if you get to phase 1 training. You have a right to reject a trainer. Ask them how long they have been on the road. A lot of them have barely made it out of training themselves. You want a more experienced trainer. Ask them how do they trip plan and if they allot for showers. Yes folks a lot of these trainers do not take the time to shower, or even want to give you time to go to the bathroom. Be safe if they tell you to do something you don't feel is right don't do it. Because if you have an accident it goes on your record not theirs.
