What a great hidden gem in DC! Whether you fancy yourself a runner, biker, or speed walker, the C&O canal offers an excellent scenic trail for you to practice your sport. I love running on this trail because I find the dirt to be much more forgiving on my joints than Tarmac. Plus, the scenery is definitely something to brag about. Lots of weeping trees, wide open waters, and even Blue Herons standing on rocks looking stoic.
