Very nice apartments. Has a pool & playground for kids. Also garages available

Poverty stricken. Turn around rate of office staff is terrible. Section 8. Segregated. Most of the African Americans are in the back and anyone of another race is towards the front. Even if this is done by mistake, it's definitely noticeable. 99% are not of the working class. They sit around all day and aimlessly walk around the complex. Cops are called almost constantly. If you are a meth user, crack or pot head, you've hit the jackpot. People walk around mumbling to themselves or screaming and yelling. Kids are unsupervised. Loud music and drug deals all hours of the day and night. Not much parking for the residents that do live there because the drifters come in and stay when they aren't on the lease to do so. Cars are constantly ticketed to be towed. And some were vandalized. Everyone seems to be in a fog, congregating around the mailboxes all day long because they have nothing better to do..office staff is careless. As long as u pay rent, they don't care. It's a close nit community. Meaning, if u don't want people to know ur business, keep to yourself because everyone knows everything. Stray cats were an ongoing problem. People were having their garages broke into so often that the office installed cameras. While I was there, I never had a problem with mice or roaches but I was aware of people who did and it was not addressed in a timely manner. Building fires was another common occurrence.probably drug related.
Also, had my door kicked in on multiple occasions as did someone else who left a review for Buttonwood. Its very common here. Someone has something nice and the loser trash come along and think they can rob your house and take it. There is gang activity as well. If this is your last resort when finding a place to live, just be very selective in the company u keep and don't tell anyone what u have or u will walk in your door one day and it will be gone. Then u will tell the office staff and they will instruct u to call the cops, and you will. But then when u go to move out, they will give u a bad reference because u called them. The cops have been out to buttonwood so many times for robberies, missing children, yes, I said missing children, domestic violence, drugs ect. I would highly suggest u head over to the local police department and inquire about moving here before you do so.response / report this review -

My mother lives here and has for several years. She calls me every day and at least one of our conversations every week is about horrible the apartment complex is. Yesterday, a women walked around the parking lot for over an hour yelling profanities and talking to herself. Two days before that my mother caught her neighbor trying to take half smoked cigs from an ashtray she has sitting in her patio area. Every year the complex gets worse and the stories I am told make me wonder how the manger still has a job.

So Ive been living in BW apt for about 6 months now & its been its own special hellI say this for a few reasons.. & I'll start with the maintenance is sub par ..I saw this bc from the time that I move into apt 1906 getting hot water has been a hassle. mind you 1906 (in the back) that leads me into the next not so nice part about living here its highly segregated. (which is against the law *cough*) you'll find the majority of the people of color living in the back, & the majority of the people of other races in the front. Im not sure if this is by accent or not..either way it makes the management of this particular property look bad. personally my stay here has been difficult & I plan to move also bc management at the end of the day is only really concerned about getting the rent check. Last to whoever gets apt 1906 I hope you've got ear plugs bc the walls are paper then & the neighbors 1908 & 1904 LOVE loud music. good luck.

Worst place to live! DO NOT MOVE HERE! People burning down apartments, people fist fight in the court yard, women screaming and cussing while another women got her head bashed in, maintenance never fixes anything. The rule 9 to 9 is 'quiet time' and it is not enforced; the person above me is up all night she stomps and makes loud noises. When i reported it to the office they laughed and said "their is nothing we can do." I have been here for several years and it wasn't like this when I first moved in, this apartment complex has gone downhill so much that I am breaking my lease and paying $1000 I do not have just to escape this heap of trash.

I gotta tell you they was good up until 2013 but now they have new management people everything just went down hill I do love these apart ments been there for almost twenty years but I'll guess gotta find something else

The wood balconies need to be replaced the wood is old. Climbing the stairs is a bit scary because of the looseness

The mangement sucks they never do anything but sit in the office or ride around on golf carts. They moved us in for a price we didn't qualify for and we got penalized for it..Never compensated us as promised. Towed one my cars and they have squirrels that run in the ceilings and furnace and they haven't done anything about and it's been 4 months or more. A neighbor stole my cat and they showed no concern or sympathy. Maintenance came once and put a hole in the wall and didn't fix. Made hot water shoot out of the water heater. Don't know if that's even been fixed. Took our fire detectors and never put them back up. Put in my 30 days it's not worth the headache and they just take your money.
