We have a group of 15 - 20 people who have been meeting for lunch at this restaurant once a month for several years.
The food quality has usually been good and service adequate, considering the number of people in our group.
In the past few months however, service quality has declined to a degree that we may look for another venue.
Wen we met for lunch this month (December, 2017) we had a server who did not speak English well and appeared to be unfamiliar with the menu.
My wife told the server what she wanted four times before he appeared to understand what she said. Even then, he misunderstood what she and some others in our party wanted.
In addition to bringing a few of us dishes that we did not order and did not like, the service was quite slow and some had finished our meal while others were still waiting for theirs. When my wife's meal was finally served, it was completely different from the dish she had ordered. We had been there more than an hour and there wasn't time to order something else.
In the past, fresh warm bread has been brought to our table as soon as we were seated, but we had ask for bread more than once and even then it wasn't brought to us promptly. We waited more than 15 minutes before anyone came to take our orders. Our drinks were not refilled in a timely manner. When we had finished eating and were ready to leave we had to wait for our checks, some of which were incorrect. There was excessive delay after giving our server credit cards.response / report this review -

Terrible experience with our groups christmas party today. Manager we schefuled and confirmed party with apparantly didnt tell the staff what we had agreed upon. Staff was rude about the whole situation and made several condoscending comments.
Most of the people in our group do not regularly eat at this bristol, but with me just living around the corner, until today i ate there at least once a week.
I will never step foot in the bristol again! They dont appreciate nor deserve my business (nor my recommendation).response / report this review -

Went here on Thanksgiving since other times were a good experience, but the buffet was a huge disappointment. The place wasn’t very crowded and the buffet food was barely warm and wasn’t being filled in a timely manner. The ham was processed. The dressing lacked seasoning and wasn’t even warm. The turkey was cut way too thick and also cool. The green beans were tasteless and barely warm. The desserts were on one very small table with only two choices.
The past couple years we went to Captain’s Quarters but they were completely booked when we attempted to make reservations. I suggest next year the owners and management of Bristol Bar & Grille go there to see how a restaurant should do a Thanksgiving buffet. Going back 6 or 8 years ago we even tried John E’s several times before they closed and it was much better that Bristol.response / report this review -

The Bristol is an iconic restaurant to Louisville, being a small chain. The mildly upscale environment with really good food, which is locally sourced, is always a solid choice for an evening out.

My husband and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner here a few years ago, and every year we come back and eat on the day before our wedding. The food here is top-notch, and this is one of the few places I know where you can order a Hot Brown. I overheard a waitress tell someone last night that they just started serving off of a new menu, starting yesterday. The food is a little bit pricey - my entree last night was $18; so we don't come out here often. But we always enjoy it when we do.

Worst dinner I've had in a long time! The atmosphere and service were okay but the food was terrible. I came here with a large group and everyone agreed the appetizers and salad dressing were not good. The steaks were overcooked and over seasoned. Pasta was bland. The only thing that I wanted more than one bite of was the roll. Don't waste your moneythere are a lot of good restaurants in this area, but this isn't one.

I almost hate to give this place five stars and draw more attention to it. But this place is LaGrange is little secret. Absolutely stunning course for a fair price. The quality of Fairways greens and rough can be inconsistent, but about what I would expect for the price. Did I mention it was beautiful?

Went here for my birthday with a large group. Service was prompt and prices are reasonable. I had the Bristol Burger which wasn't the best burger I've ever had but was definitely very good.
