Our waitress was Nice and she knew what she was doing, she checked up on us like every 10 minutes. Food came in like 5 minutes and it was scolding hot and it was so great. Their pie is made fresh everyday.(Get The Snickers Cream Pie. 10/10😍) It Had A Great Atmosphere. It was decorated for easter. You Can sit outside. And if you walk down the street a little bit there is an amazing view of the country and the Mississippi river.
We went to Breitbach's for the Friday night seafood buffet. It was a great meal, with full salad bar, soup, and plenty of seafood! I especially enjoyed the crab legs! Great small-town and friendly atmosphere!
It was every good food with very helpful people. The only thing is that I would add more things to the salad bar like cottage cheese, eggs, bacon bits. Otherwise everything was very good Thank you.
Charming place, elegant decor, wonderful staff, great food. Only possible negative is gravel parking lot. Lovely grounds.
Their buffet is exceptional. It is the best and most popular menu items. Not at all a typical buffet. The night we went, Prime Rib was the Special. Very thick cut.
They really want to make sure you are happy.
Great for couples, small groups of friends, large family gatherings, or reserve a room for Special Events. Kid friendly.
The staff was fully trained on do and don't list for guests with Service Animals. It is walker or wheelchair accessible, but gravel parking could be an issue.
I plan on going back. Call ahead for large groups at peak times, or if you want a private room. Reservation required for their big Thanksgiving Dinner.
This historic cozy place had delicious food, generous servings, and fabulous service! It is definitely worth the drive, and the settings is lovely. I was told they had a great buffet, but was blown away when I read the buffet menu board. If you think of the best homemade cooking, and several choices no matter your diet or what your taste buds are craving, it is included on the buffet. ( Under $16)
We went on Saturday, and opted for their Special, Prime Rib ($22). This came with the extensive salad and soup bar, which had unique home made options. My friend had the spaghetti soup. I told you this place was special.
The interior has beautifully crafted woodwork, and unique Antique Furnishings. The Christmas/ Winter Holiday Decorations are really several steps above. Even better than some of the finest dining in Chicago.
They have a large room for special gatherings. This is a 'don't miss' dining destination.
Very good food! We ate breakfast here and liked it so much stopped for supper on our way back to Dubuque! Service was excellent! Friendly environment!
At first I was a bit disappointed that I did not see a breakfast buffet set up on Saturday morning (I'm guessing that is only a Sunday thing), so I put in an order for some eggs, sausage, hash browns and toast.
After a short wait, the breakfast was brought out on a huge plate. Everything was absolutely delicious, and I could not have eaten any more had it been a buffet. I was absolutely stuffed and it was one of the best tasting breakfasts I have had in a very long time. All for about 8 bucks, if I remember correctly! I will certainly go back again!
This was the first time for us at Breitbach's Country Dining at Balltown. We had heard about it for some time and I must say it lived up to its great reputation! We stopped at noon on a Wednesday and had the soup and salad bar. The quality of the food at the salad bar was superb with it also being some of the tastiest food I ever have experienced. To top off this great lunch, we were served by Lynn, our waitress who was the most pleasant, efficient, and courteous waitress my wife and I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Even though we live almost a hundred miles away, we certainly plan to be back again!
Although the buffet was hot and plentiful i won't have it again. At $17.95 a piece i was definitely disappointed. Most fish and the crab was overcooked. Best part was the lettuce salad. I'll stick with a sandwich next time.
Very yummy! We walked in with a group of 17 and they were able to accomodate and serve us well.
The drive from Cedar Rapids to Breitbach's is lovely. When we went it was incredibly busy but we were seated in an appropriate amount of time. The buffet was wonderful. Broasted chicken, mashed potatoes, every other good thing you can come up with. Reasonably priced. But let's talk tenderloins! DELICIOUS. Not those breaded tenderloins that are all breading but real honest to goodness tenderloins. What a great place to eat! And, when you leave be sure and stop at the overlook to see the Mississippi and the farm lands below.
The food here is amazing and you cannot beat the view!!! The staff is always great and I love that every time I've been here the owner has stopped us to say hello and introduce himself. Love!!!
Wonderful food. Great atmosphere. Pleasant owner and staff. Beautiful views outside. Their breaded pork tenderloin is the absolute best!!
We actually came here because we randomly watched a documentary about it on Netflix. The lines are consistently super long, which I suppose is an indicator of it being a place worth traveling for. The food was good, the pies & fries were excellent.
