Was there today for dinner tonight and was not impressed with the place. Stain from the meal before on the table, waitress filled my water glass and spilled half on the floor and not wiping it up. Carpet dirty, ends coming up off floor. Menu was different from web site said they "JUST" changed it from the winter menu. When asked about some ideas was told that they didn't have it. So got the fish fry. My wife got shrimp. Both were under cooked, soggy, rubbery. Had them redo it and came back the same. Very dissapointed. 5star? No way. Won't be back.
Food was Exquisite !!! Friendly Staff. Quiet and Comforting !!!
We were there late morning on a Friday and they were not busy. Service was slow and the food (breakfast menu) was good but greasy. The waitress was great though. When she realized we had been waiting for awhile she went out of her way for us.
Excellent food and service. Tenderloin was cooked to perfection and the best I have ever had.
Came in on a quiet Friday night. There were 3 tables total with people at them, a few at the bar and 2 servers that I could see. It still ended up taking over 20 min for our server to bring our drinks, and another 15 before she came back for our order. Overall terrible service with a server who couldn't answer any questions about the food, we heard the next table from ours complain about the same thing to the manager, who then purposely avoided coming to our table (she rushed by and in passing asked if everything was ok. "Good? Good.")
And then the food - horrible for the price. We were expecting a great meal based on the descriptions and expense. I've never had such dry, tasteless pork. (Although my friends prime rib was not bad). Had the manager stopped by I would have sent my food back for the first time ever. As it was we were sick of waiting for the server to check on us and just wanted to get out of there. Went elsewhere for dessert because I was still hungry! Won't be going back, obviously.
Very nice little restaurant. It is pricey so keep that in mind if your planning on going. But the atmosphere and staff are nice, and the food is good.
Portion sizes are small. Potato wedges and spaghetti that we had was delicious but the hash browns reeked of some dressing that did not appeal to us. Desserts are amazing.
Failed to meet expectations. Good food, but not as good as the price would suggest. Morning omelette was overdone and served with dry ham chunks. Dinner was a tenderloin and smashed potatos. Far too much salt, on everything. Steak ordered medium rare, arrived med. well. Nice and juicy, tender and flavorful cut. Asked for Maker's bourbon in my drink, got Jack Daniel's. $30 for a fairly small serving of steak and potatoes-- and $6 extra to split it.
I am in complete awe of the lack of professionalism behind the hostess stand this morning. I was placed awkwardly right in front of it to eat, and couldn't help but overhear. Customers consistently came in and were told their reservations were "messed up" because "she" decided to give their tables away. The "she" was apparently the manager who the employee had no problem telling customers about and spoke poorly of - repeatedly!! Just in complete shock that this type of behavior and disrespect could be tolerated.
The items that are fresh made are wonderful. I had the shrimp Thai noodles and could eat it every day. But there were some items that weren't made fresh, like their cinnamon rolls. It looked and tasted like something that had been nuked from a frozen state. I'd eat here again but only for their dinner menu.
Ummmm . Uneven.
When I walked into restaurant, someone did come out and greet me - in a rather off hand way. I asked if the restaurant was open. Once I checked my watch and confirmed for the server that it was indeed after 4:30 .I was seated. Sigh.
I ordered the short ribs and soup of the day. Fresh warm bread was served with olive oil - at least a third of a cup of olive oil. At least. I'm eating alone. Really? How much olive oil do people use?
The soup of the day was cheeseburger. I thought it would be interesting. It sort of was. Not in a good way. It tasted like a cheeseburger, but not a particularly good one. I'm willing to admit, maybe it was just me. Someone else might love it.
Short ribs were quite good. The fingerling potatoes were unremarkable and tasteless. I guess I could have dunked them in the excess olive oil. Yuck.
My bill got dropped off. I proffered my credit card. It was run. Then returned . With no pen. I could have used my blood . Or the olive oil . Took a while to get a pen. Sigh.
It was an experience.
Staff is very friendly and very attentive to details. Food was really good and the atmosphere was nice and romantic. Will definitely be bringing my wife and myself back here again.
Great food, peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff. On the expensive side, but you get what you pay for.
