We were on our way back to Florida from Tennessee when the differential went out on my Jeep. I am so thankful to Boyd's , their staff was awesome. We needed to het back on the road asap because of Hurricane Irma. They took care of us and had us back on the road in a few hours. They were reasonably priced and did not try to rip is off or over charge us! Great Big Thank You goes to Boyd's Transmission!

Took my vehicle to these folks to get a transmission rebuilt. I told them specifically I just wanted the transmission rebuilt. I knew I had other things wrong with the vehicle, a leaky radiator but it was fine. I get a call from boyd telling me I need a new radiator. I told him I know i was going to change intake gaskets on it and was going to wait until I got it back from boyd to replace radiator. He then says we have already taken it out. He wanted to sell me a radiator, I told him no, put the radiator back in. Then he tries to tell me he might not honor the warranty, but he did put the old radiator back in. There was another issue with the vehicle I wasnt aware of part of my original problem with the transmission was actually being caused by the pcm, which I do appreciate them to bring that to my attention. After being informed of the pcm being faulty I got a rebuilt pcm on my own. When I got a call from boyd that it was ready, I go up there look at it and a few pieces were missing from the vehicle; skid plate on the transmission and the radiator fan shroud. I asked him about it and they found the parts in the shop. I watched the guy putting the parts back on, it must of been his first day working on a vehicle or working with tools. It took him over an hour to put something on that should only take 15 minutes to do and that includes a 5 minute cig break. Then I drive it home within the first week it started slipping in overdrive again. I called them back to ask what might be the problem didnt get boyd, I left a message and never heard back from him. After dealing with him I will never pay anyone to rebuild another transmission again. Also, this guy has a serious anger issue. I rebuild all my own transmissions now, with no problems at all. I wish I had done that to begin with.

Mr. Boyd and his mechanics are the real deal. I took my truck into his shop and he took real good care of me. Showed me the respect and courtesy I deserved. They are real pros here. I highly recommend this shop if you ever need transmission work. Thanks Mr. Boyd. My truck runs like new.

If I could give them zero stars I would. My mother took her car here and was having problems with her tires after they fixed the transmission. My grandfather is a transmission mechanic and explained that the new problem can only be when the transmission is dropped. We went to the guy to explain and before we could get the explanation out. We were cursed at and threatened. He didn't even bother to look. Please find another place my mother tire were about to fly off, thankfully they didn't but these people clearly did not care. They are a sorry business.

My truck broke down 300 miles from home. Mr. Boyd had his guys stay late and come in early to put a new transmission in within half a day. Truck is running great had the price was reasonable

I went here with transmission problems. I left here $350 short and now I have severe brake problems. That's what they charged me just to see what was wrong with my transmission. The brakes I have no idea why something is wrong now. All I know is that they had a vehicle like mine there and now my vehicle runs worse. Maybe they took parts off of mine to fix the other vehicle there IDK. My battery was tampered with and when I was in the office the owner(I guess) was complaining about somebody leaving stuff in his seat. Get your fat ass out of that chair and into the shop cause when I walked back there nobody was working. So if u want your money taken go here cause $3000 dollars to replace a transmission with a new one or $6000 to rebuild a transmission. Why? Shouldn't it be cheaper to rebuild? Screw this place. People I hope this wannabe transmission shop goes out of business soon

Called these guys Monday to ask if they would give me a ruff (non-binding) price on a repair. They said they would call me back. Did not Monday. I figured they must have been busy. Waited until Tuesday evening. Called them again. Person (?) got a little snippy with me and said the owner would call me back. I pointed out it was 4:30 pm. He said the owner often called people later after the shop closes. BUT, it's now Thursday at 4:30 and have not gotten a single call back.
Would I take my transmission there ? Hell No.response / report this review -

This is a HORRIBLE establishment. This is the stereotypical mechanic that rips you off. Went here for transmission problems. Emory Boyd (owner) sounds very nice and kind over the phone. This is a front to get your car into his shop; he knows he has the upperhand since you likely won't bother to drive it/have it towed elsewhere. I spoke with Emory over the phone and we agreed on a price to fix my vehicle. So I drop my car off and wait. He calls me at the end of the day and tells me a number $2000 more than he initially stated! When I ask him about this he tells me there is no way he told me that initial quote. When he calls you at the end of the day this is when he is VERY rude and condescending. Moving forward we agree on a price and I have the work done. I get a call from him a few days later asking me who was working on my car because they found something broken. This new problem that they found was an extra $300! I am positive this establishment broke the item on my car and did not want to own up to it. I finally pick up my car and while the problem is fixed, it is not perfect--I am expecting perfection after spending thousands of dollars here. When I asked him about the issue that still exists, he blows me off with some pathetic excuse and tells me this is as good as it will get. Bottom line, DO NOT GO HERE! Emory Boyd is a LIAR and his techs are incompetent. If there are any positive reviews on here, he must write them himself. If you need transmission work I urge you to look into one of the other shops. I picked this one because he sounds SO sweet over the phone. LIE!
