understaffed and extremely slow service. The soup came out cold. The waitress was apologetic and warmed it up. The rest of food was acceptable but was overpriced for what you get. Hindsight being 20/20 we should have just left the restaurant. We would not go back there or recommend it however, it does seem to be popular with the local crowd. We were expecting more.

We have been here before and the food and service were awesome, however tonight it took over 5 minutes to seat us in a half empty place and after we were seated we waited 22 minutes and were never even approached by a waiter/waitress to get our drink order even we were passed by them many times. Very disappointed and we were really excited to be eating here again. Sadly, we may think twice before eating here again just because of our experience this time.

Came in, sat ourselves. Ordered food. Waited forever. Never given utensils to eat with. Had to hunt down spoonsfood came ice cold. When asked to heat up our dinners we we're flat out called liars about the cold food and was told they checked the food. We question how they tested it with their fingers and they then proceeded to make a scene in their own restaurant by raising their voice at my family including my 3 young children. The hitler of restaurants.

Honestly, my husband and I have been going here for several years. It used to be our favorite place to go out to eat. The last five or six times we've gone, the service was frankly the most terrible I've had in the area. One waiter walked past us a total of seven times. We waited close to 20 minutes (just to order water) and when I finally asked him if we could order (he'd brought out a full meal and beers to the table next to us by then) he said he was clocking out soon, then went and stood by the bar area to talk to co-workers. Other times I've gone, I never got refills unless I flag someone down (I got one water refill today, and he actually only took my husband's glass and I had to call after him to ask for more for me?) I got the total wrong item today (not at all the first time this has happened) and when I told the waiter I was told it was correct (the bill later stated it was nowhere near what I ordered, but I still paid for it), and we now see that price of food has risen yet again.
Each time I've gone the servers stand by the soda fountain area and talk and watch TV, not concerned with the customers (you won't see them for fifteen minutes at a time depending on who is working). I always end up frustrated when we eat there. I thought it was a once or twice occurrence, but it's now been last six times.
It's really unfortunate that an affordable place we used to love has now met us with disappointment each time we've gone. The food is truly wonderful, especially the soups, but anymore we've decided to go somewhere with good food, reasonable prices ($5.00 for a small cup of soup?), and reasonable service. They either need to hire servers who are interested in working or they need to be trained better. People go out to eat for a reason, and a poor wait staff is going to cost a lot of business.response / report this review -

The food we got was seriously lacking. My fiance got the salmon with broccoli and baked potato. It had absolutely zero seasoning. Everything was bland.
I got a burger that was okay, but they put everything on it, and I had asked for something to be left off. I also ordered a side of broccoli that I didn't get.
This is the second time we have gotten lack luster food. Taking all of that into account we will not be returning.response / report this review -

It's been a family owned staple of Bellefonte for a long time. Typical American menu, but above average quality. Good beer selection. Also, beer to go.

Came for lunch, and got two of the best burgers I have had in a long time! Great price and great service too! Apple pepperjack sauce is amazing!
