I went to be fitted for an orthotic. My doctor wanted me to go to a neurological physical therapist. My first appointment was for 3 pm. They did not come get me until 3:20. I was waiting in the small overcrowded waiting room. I figured my appointment would then go until 4:20 since they started so late. I told them why I was there. He asked me a bunch of questions and then couldn't figure out how to punch things into a tablet. Him typing on the tablet took another 15 minutes. I was simply sitting on a table while waiting. I told him again I needed to be fitted for an orthotic. He said we will get to that and I lifted a yoga ball with my legs for 5 minutes and then he hooked up an electrode thing to my hands and feet for a few minutes and first appointment was over at 4. They charged me 50.00 even though I have insurance saying my deductible hadn't been met yet. I made an appointment for a few days later so I could be fitted for an orthotic. I went again and again waited in the waiting room until 3:20. This time he started me on using a ball on the wall turning my head sideways and up and down. He told me how many reps. I did the reps and was done but he was helping another person. I awkwardly waited in the room just standing there not knowing what to do next. It was about 5 minutes of just standing in the room. Then he had me do rubber bands. I was there for drop foot so not sure why we were working on my arms. I did the rubber bands and was left standing in the room not knowing what I was supposed to do and when I would be fitted for my orthotic. He then came back and put me on the hand bike. Again I was done with the reps just waiting. At the end of that I asked about the orthotic and he said he had something better than an orthotic. He then spent 5 minutes cutting sports tape and stuck it on my foot. It didn't help and it didn't work and I don't have time to cut and stick sports tape on my foot every day. Again I was charged 50.00. Fast forward a few months and out of the blue, I receive another bill for 50.00! I have called THREE times about this bill and no solution! Save your money and buy a gym membership instead! I feel incredibly ripped off and guess what? Still no orthotic! I had to research it myself on line and buy one myself! Thanks for nothing Body Owners! They billed my insurance on top of all of that too!
When I first moved to Key West, I had recently undergone knee surgery that required more physical therapy then I anticipated. I was rather worried if I wouldn't be able to receive the proper care down in the Keys, fortunately a friend referred to me Body Owners Physical Therapy.
I can say I had such a wonderful experience with the staff here from the front of house to the owner. Prior to surgery I was very active and was eager to get back into activities such as running, lifting and enjoying active life in The Keys. It seemed like the staff particularly Heather took a personal interest in getting me back to where I wanted to be. It was a struggle but she pushed me to exceed my limits and get back to running shape in a short 5-6 weeks.
The type of Therapy I used while at Body Owners was innovative and really kept up with the times, unlike other facilities I have used in the. To name a few: The Alter G treadmill, which allowed you to run and walk at a body weight percentage you were comfortable with while you progressed through therapy. Among my favorite was the TRX Bands. Thanks to the staff here I left strong and healthy, again to continue doing the things I enjoy most!
I would highly recommend Body Owners Physical Therapy to anyone in need of these services.
Excellent PT clinic with excellent Therapists.
Went here for lower back pain they quickly figured out my pain issues and got me back to a 100% quickly. And was very enjoyable to go to therapy each week with the great staff. Thanks for the help Heather!
