Vary nice camping area, the host and other ground keepers are the best..make you feel welcome. Vary clean . Wonderful scenery nice area to walk around in &the kids have fun.. we've been coming for years,

I can't think of anything wrong with this place but the drive. There is lots of room for tents, and lots of room for free-range pets and children to play, too. The bathrooms are actually clean, and there is a wash room for dishes.
There are at least two trails, one of which branches out. The older kids like the harder, rockier one, which was never really a trail, just a riverbed. It forks into two trails, one short one that leads to the lake and one long one that leads to two things. A field, and a muddier trail. They usually come out of the muddy one covered in it, but they have lots of fun. If you go all the way through it, it leads to the playground.
Did I mention there was a playground? It's great. Waterfountain, mulch, benches, and equipment. Anyway, the easier trail is shorter and more sloped, but it leads to the lake also. It is more ideal for younger kids or adults.
The gazebo/shelter has electricity enough to plug things such as croc-pots and waffle irons in, and charge cell phones and tablets. Also, right next to it is a sand volley ball court. Next to that is a field. It's a great place for group photos, but don't cut yourself on the thick, sharp grass.
Sorry for the freakishly long review, I just have so many great memories here. I've been going with my family's friend group since I was a kid.response / report this review -

This is a nice place to camp. Typically the area is well kept and the facilities are clean. The 4-star rating is only because there really is no good view of the lake from here

Nice swimming area, public use Public abused 😕 people didn't pick up their trash and 2 of the 3 sinks were clogged We went back on Monday and the maintenance guys were there fixing things. Very nice people 😁. Just do your part and pick up!

Great place. Lot's of trees. Great for tent campers. Not much power on the campgrounds as we kept popping a circuit breaker. Also, the staff was a little rude when we asked for more toilet paper.

A very nice well run federal camping area. The camping areas are nice and clean. The people who run the camp drive around on a nice electric mini-car at night and keep a good eye on things. I come out here once a year to meet friends for a small gathering.
Because of safe atmosphere of the camping area, there are many of children riding around on their bicycles and they don't always watch so you must keep an eye out for them. They do seem well behaved thought.
There is a nearby boat dock but fishing seems to be limited to that area. There could be some other ways to the lake but I didn't have time to explore them.
There is a good sized , brick restroom / shower area at the center of camp. There are other smaller wood framed restrooms located in a number of areas that have running water.
There seems to be ample hookups for campers, large and small.
