So disappointing and dishonest! New in town (and in America) with my family, I bought eye glasses yesterday for my son (12 yo). The prescription was made a couple of days beforehand by one of the doctors in the same place. In the optical part, the clerck gave me a global number for the lenses and another for the frame. The total was about $370 out of my pocket! It's quite a lot and I asked her a detailed quote but she only wrote those 2 numbers on a little sticking paper. As I am new I didn't know if it was "normal" for a kid eye glasses here in the USA. Once at home I looked closely at my receipt and she sold me a bunch of unnecessary stuff such as "edge polish", ""anti reflective treatment premium" or "high index 1.67"! Why didn't she give me the detailed quote so I could refuse these unnecessary stuff! This is so dishonest. When I called them today in the morning to cancel the order, they told me it was too late. I feel like I was stolen :-((

Dr. Dovie did great with my 3yo, but the office staff was less than helpful with me and my contacts, looking for opportunities to charge fees. Most importantly, the exam I received missed high ocular pressure in one of my eyes. Won't be returning.

The optical staff and Tim (optical rep) went above and beyond with their customer service today. I was traveling and forgot my contact lenses - I called Blacksburg Eye Assoc. and Tim was able to hook me up with contacts in Richmond through his connections. They saved my trip and I will forever recommend them to everyone. Thanks!

I asked the women who served me not to give me the glasses on the show case and ratger to gove me a new one. She promised to so but them they give me the same used one and after a week i got it broken. I send it to be replaced and again they give the same one after fixing the part and it broke again. I paid over 400$ out of my pocket including what they got from my insurance and they said sorry we can't do any change nor replacement. Don't go to them and save your money.

Fantastic Experience! My wife uses Blacksburg Eye Associates and has been impressed with them so my annual exam came due so I called and schedule an appointment. When I arrive I had my paperwork printed off to hand in to speed up the process of me being a first time patient. Within 5 minutes I was called back by Tiffany to get the exam and photos started. I have AMD so I have to get dilated anytime I'm seen by my specialist and I was dilated this time as well for my exam. After I was dilated, Tiffany said Dr. Mitchell would be in to see me shortly. When Dr. Mitchell came in she explained the reason she was not in to see me sooner was to make sure the dilation took full effect and to give my eyes time to relax and adjust to the dimness of the room. During and after the exam, Dr. Mitchell took the time to explain what she was doing, looking for and the reason behind what she was doing. She did "fuss" at me because I wear contacts mainly and sleep in them often, but the fussing was only because it could damage my vision or make my situation worse. So I was appreciative of the "fussing"! After the exam was over I had a few questions and she answered them all. She even gave me her business card which had her email and I emailed her to ask a couple of additional questions I had forgotten to ask during my visit. She responded in a timely fashion and was detailed in her response. I'm very glad to be seeing these folks at this office because they have a legitimate concern for our eye health! I will continue to see them even if insurance changes and they are no longer an "in network" provider. Keep up the great work and the professionalism and friendly staff!

Blacksburg Eye Associates is one of the best doctor's offices I've ever visited! Dr. Dovi is so friendly and knowledgeable, and is willing to explain anything to you. The entire staff has been so helpful and kind every time I've visited. I don't feel like I'm bothering them when I have to call about anything. Ashley was my contact lens technician and she has been exceptional! I've tried to wear contacts in the past, but this is the first time I've been able to, thanks for her help finding the right prescription and lenses. She worked with me for about a month to ensure that I was happy with them..and I am!!! She has followed up with me to advise me of newer other choices that are available. I've had a great experience thanks to her and the terrific staff! Have recommended the office to my friends :)

The doctors and all the staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Even after moving away and finding a new (not as good) doctor, we called with questions and they were more than happy to help.

I cannot thank the knowledgeable, efficient, and kind staff that helped me to find the perfect fit for my first pair of glasses! Dr. Mitchell was so patient; taking the time to explain each different image and test that she and the technician conducted. I was then sent to the wonderful Hannah Whisonant who helped me through the amazing selection of frames available. It was nice to have someone that was honest who also has a sense of humor that could help me find a frame that worked, whilst laughing together at the ones that were totally not made for my face.

Thank you all so much for your kindness and patience! From the first staff member I met at the counter to the last to say goodbye each couldn't have been more kind!

I would highly recommend stopping in the next time you need an exam or a new pair of glasses! These guys are awesome!
