As other reviewers have noted, owner John Horrocks has not only an excellent eye for color and texture, but has a very gentle and patient demeanor that makes one's experience of him very pleasant. The environment in which he helps one select the treatment for one's art is equally calming, with excellent light and soothing music. The cost was comparable to what I had been quoted in another shop in a different state.
Mr. Horrocks gave equal attention and care to helping me with this more expensive, more complex job as he had to a simple mat-cutting project about a year go. I would not go anywhere else for framing. Besides, the gallery portion of the store always has delightful things to look at, AND there is adequate and easy parking right out front.response / report this review -

John Horrocks, so helpful in assisting my challenging choice of a two-colored matte, simply offered to redo it for no extra charge when it turned I didn't like the way it looked. Extra work, another matte, and friendly support resulted in a framed print I feel delighted with! Thanks, John!

I always use Black Bird Framing BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Both Pat and John will spent as much time as necessary to help you find the best means to frame your art. They understand the issues of archival materials required for fine art. Their work is the only framing that passes museum standards. Black Bird also handled our artwork when we moved recently -- they transported and hung all of our large canvases (about 20) without hassles or damage. I cannot praise this business enough.

I knew already that BlackBird Frame would be where I'd go because they have a solid reputation for excellent work and they're local. They did a great job, absolutely perfect! But what has delighted me more is the way I was treated with such respect and how fun it was and how thoroughly they made sure I got what I wanted. I will definitely be back!

The organization I worked for had an 8 page article framed through Blackbird. They were incredible to work with! Very helpful and honest. The pieces look beautiful and were much more affordable through Blackbird than online or through Michael's. Very pleased!

Have been a customer of Pat and John's since about 1990. Every piece of art I have is framed by them and they are works of art themselves. John is an artist making every piece I give him a greater better more beautiful piece of art - including $10 posters! He can make them all look like I spent a million dollars. I have really enjoyed being a customer and can't recommend him highly enough!!

I have been using BlackBird Frame and Art for years now, and am always pleased at the level of service, selection and fair pricing that they offer. The staff is so creative and helpful, even the shop dog Molly is a pleasure to know. Any art you choose to put on your walls will look its best after you take it to BlackBird!
