Played there for the big cup tournament. We play every year always the first weekend in November. It's such a good time. We play the course about 5-8 times a year. This tournament is a 2 day event. It's so fun our buddy flew in from SF and 8 of his friends drove up from North Carolina. Course is great. I think it's overplayed a bit but that's not a bad thing I guess? If you're free for a weekend or looking for a place to have an outing highly recommend Birdsfoot.
Favorite public course around. Great condition. Great layout.
A fine links course except for #13. What were they thinking?😂😂
Excellent public course. Well maintained and challenging but a bit of a drive from the airport or downtown areas. Pace of play was excellent and the staff very friendly.
Open fairways. True links style course. Well maintained
If you get the chance, play this course! Not a push over so pick correct tee box. Elevations and sand traps make for a challenging round. Pace of play starts on first tee box with starters asking you to wait till foursome in front are on the green. Made for a great pace. (Thanks) Trevor and staff, Good Job! Buffalo Boys ( enjoyed trying to find the old man carvings too)
Why does Birdsfoot have a very rude Ranger patrolling the course and yelling at everyone in the spring when the pace is fast and it's cart path only. Then when it heats up and we need a Ranger to get a threesome moving that's holding up everyone on the whole course, he's nowhere to be found.
We had a 5 and a half hour round on a hot day. We had to wait a long time on every hole and there was no reason for it. All we needed was a Ranger to get that slow motion threesome moving!!! Unacceptable!!! Makes you never want to go back!!!
Today I was forced to play with two strangers rather than allowing a third golfer who I invited to play with us at last minute. This has left such a bad taste in my mouth that I am not willing to play in any special event your club is holding this year. Previously I participated in all brew haha as well as big cup events. Never again. The decision to run this course like a puppy mill has made me reconsider ever playing here again. If I hadn't won a free membership this year I would not play here again this year. I am seriously reconsidering renewing any memberships or buying any of your advantage packages. If you have no say so in who you play golf with then who wants to play?? Not me. Not with strangers every round
One of nicer golf course in Pittsburgh
My favorite course in western pa. The views are spectacular. Its usually busy but you keep moving.
A beautiful, challenging, and fun layout. Birdsfoot is wonderful course, tucked into the hills of Freeport.
A very nice full-size driving range with a chipping green as well as a spacious practice putting green welcomes you as you approach the clubhouse. The clubhouse, although small, gets the job done. An old farm-style house has a charm to it, with delicious and fresh food and always a great beer selection.
Birdsfoot has a challenging layout, with tee box options for every golfer. The starter (yes they still have one on the #1 tee, unlike most courses anymore), is very knowledgeable and loosens the nerves off the tee.
The course is family owned and operated, and it shows. They put their heart into everything they do, and aren't in it for the money. The $65 rate is extremely cheap for what you get, if it wasn't "in the middle of nowhere", they could easily charge $100.
Check out Birdsfoot, and look for deals, they always have them. Enjoy!
Really enjoyed playing it today. Very challenging holes from the tips. The first 3 on each 9 will definitely get your attention. Many holes have multi-tiered greens. Be sure to get it on the proper level.
1 and 10 are both uphill par 4's that look like they're 1000 yards long and probably play that long when the wind is howling like today. Is it always that windy here?
Be sure to look around and enjoy the beautiful views while you're playing.
I'd give it 5 stars if there weren't so many ball marks on the greens. I fixed at least 3 on each hole, and could have done many more, but the ball still rolled great.
Would play again and recommend to others.
