Great trip to swim with the manatees in Crystal River. 6 am start time is tough but well worth it as we had the spring to ourselves for the first 30 minutes or so. The manatees are spectacular and swim all around you. Bird's staff is very friendly. We loved Captain Rick and guide Brittney.

I've swam with Birds Underwater twice now and the second time was easily just as excellent as the first. Staff is friendly and personal, and we had a great time joking around like old friends. I appreciated them more than I can say for how much they love and care for the manatees and their above and beyond customer service. Highly recommend. Would book with them time and time again.

Paul and Rob were the best tour guides. Very knowledgeable, patient, and funny. They really made our experience worthwhile. The manatees were very active and since they taught us how to handle ourselves, we were honored with them coming up to us to play! Would definitely go again!

If I could give this company more stars, I would. From start to finish, this tour was wonderful. Check in, wetsuit and snorkel fitting, and manatee education was quick and smooth. We were put on a boat with Captain Glenn and Jessica. I can’t say enough nice things about these two. They were both knowledgeable and funny, and you could tell the both really enjoyed their jobs. As we were leaving and returning from the dock, they were both full of information about the area and full of great historical facts. Once in the water they were both sure to make sure everyone was doing well and eager to give us pointers for the best experience. Hot chocolate on the way back hit the spot too.

When we got to Kings Cove, I was expecting to see one or two manatees but they were everywhere. Apparently the recent cold snap brought them in. Some manatees were content to rest and allow us to be a casual observer but others were curious and came right up to us to investigate the strange beings in their habitat. This was an experience I will never forget. Book a tour with Birds Underwater. You won’t regret it.

Great tour! Swimming around the manatees was a very cool experience. Great idea if you're looking for something different to do in central Florida. Our tour guide Rob did a great job and was especially helpful with getting my grandma in the water and helping her learn to snorkel!

Did my referral dives with Jeff Sandman, the best scuba instructor I have ever met. He is professional and experienced. Very easgoing and knows his stuff because he is a full-timer. Went to devils den and rainbow river for the certification dives now not only am I certified but also have a dive buddy in town for whenever I am back to dive ( he does that with all his students). Think no further, choose this place for diving. Very honest curtious and professional. All their rental gear is quality scuba pro. Prices reasonable

Amazing time! Brittany did an amazing job taking us through the waters and educating us on everything in the water. Mike was a great captain and extremely positive, both of them together did a fantastic job. I hope I can come back again soon .

My family and I went for a manatee tour. Was skeptical at first but wow, what a experience! Exceeded our expectations! Our captain/guides (Paul & Rob) were very informative, nice, funny and professional. Told us in beginning there wasn't many manatees at time of year we were there (April) ended up seeing and swimming with 5 different ones. Up close, relaxing encounters. Took us to a canal off the river which is all fresh water, spring fed waters to the springs themselves. All I can say is AWESOME! Birds doesn't advertise much and there's bigger outfits that do tours..the others are also more crowded and expensive. Go to this place and check it out, well worth the drive and money!
