One of my most cherished Christmas traditions is to go to Big Tree Plantation the day after Thanksgiving, go out into the fields and cut down our tree. Even the pre-cut trees in the barn are better quality than anywhere I've seen! Of course, we have to go into the gift shop for free hot chocolate and an ornament! The kids are grown and out of the house now, and they went with an entire collection of ornaments that they bought at Big Tree. And we are continuing the tradition with our grandson.

Everybody at Big Tree Plantation was super friendly very knowledgeable and more than willing to help you pick your tree prepare your tree load your tree for you and tie it down to your car. They offer a cut your own tree as well as having a barn full of pre-cut trees. There are also horses and goats on the farm that you can Feed & Pet. They also offer free hot chocolate inside their sale shop and they have a nice to nativity scene set up and there is a small concession stand as well. This is my family's new Christmas tradition and we will continue to come back here each year for our Christmas trees.

We came here a few days ago and while it was okay, it wasn't as organized or as friendly as we thought it would be. We were told this was a family owned business that was so much fun for kids of all ages. Well nit quite. Nothing is marked very clearly as to where to pick up sleds or get saws (everyone is kinda just walking around asking everyone if their done with theirs or if they can borrow it). We read online that they take credit cards then we went up to pay and the lady at the register wasn't very friendly she barked at my husband that they only take cash so he showed her on the website what it said and she said that's on the other side. Nothing was noted and nothing was organized.

As for the trees, we normally go to a place in Yellow Springs called Young's. They seem to take much better care of their trees at Young's. This place doesn't trim them as needed at the top or at the bottoms. We even asked our person who wrapped and shook the tree to put a hole in the bottom of it and they didn't. The whole experience just wasn't at all what we expected.

Again, a little direction and friendliness goes a long way, especially at Christmas.

We've gone to many cut your own tree farms in the past 25 years. This is the biggest and had the most amenities. However the trees were pretty picked over and this is only December 4th. And they are pricey. The photo ops were nice and the gift shop was cute. No reindeer seen. Nativity scene was incomplete. Staff was very helpful and it seemed many people found trees. We got a live but pre-cut tree somewhere else. Disappointed for the reputation it has.

Great place to buy a Christmas tree, you can even cut one down yourself. Big selection of ornaments and decorations as well. The staff is friendly and helpful. This will be our tenth year going to Big Tree. There are horse-drawn carriage rides and goats you can feed. This place is a great Christmas destination. Not to mention the free hot chocolate!!

Very family friendly and beautiful trees. The grandkids had so much fun in Winter Wonderland, decorating a cookie, making a craft, and seeing the goats, alpacas, and ducks. The gift barn is beautiful and hot chocolate is free. Definitely a place where Christmas memories become traditions.

Great Christmas Trees and even better service. The staff is phenomenal and goes beyond expectations to ensure customer service. You pick the tree whether in the barn or out in the field and they will tie it to the vehicle for you. Very kid friendly and is an excellent family experience. Best place to get a live Christmas tree. This is our 3rd year in a row.
