Known for Really BIG pizzas. Has a full bar. Huge conglomeration of rooms built over the years so it is pretty easy to get a group celebration together with at least some privacy. Make sure to not confuse it with Big Lou's Burgers which is next door (same folks) to the North on WW White. Pizza was good. They use a sweet sauce and it is the super thin crust variety.
42 inch pizzas!! The wait is long, but it's a big pie! 13 people (5 adults and 8 children) couldn't finish the whole thing. We ended up with three extra pieces. Great customer service. Phenomenal atmosphere.
Big Lous is known for its enormous pizzas. Featured on nationwide shows like man vs food, most of the attention it garners stems from its literal larger than life pies that can feed a family of 4 for a weekwell, for a while anyway. Whats not usually talked about is how good their pizzas taste! Their pepperoni standard is one of the best in the city, hands down. Also, you should give their spaghetti and meatballs a shot tooyou wont be disappointed. They have a great assortment of beers and the atmosphere is very relaxed and family friendly. Highly recommended.
Definitely worth the wait You order your food at the beginning. Wings are actually cheap and good. And pizza is GIGANTIC definitely includes a lot of toppings. You definitely get what you pay for! For a large pizza you would expect it to get lost in it's taste, but it is definitely not the case here! Worth it! Go experience Big Lou's Pizza!!!!!!!!! :) All ages welcome!
Beyond the novelty of the pizza being gigantic, you get amazingly friendly service, and the pizza is actually some of the best I've ever had. The first time I went, I thought "sure, it'll be big, but is it going to be cooked right?" Not only was it cooked to perfection, the seasoning, toppings, and crust are really good and it is one of the best pizzas you can get. Go for the novelty of a large pizza, stay because it tastes amazing and the service is top notch.
One of the BEST pizza spots I've ever been to. It's a little confusing at first as far as the seating process. But once you've ordered and are seating everything is great! Great atmosphere, food, and service!!!
Outstanding food and service. Today was my first time there and we ordered the 42” pizza because we were celebrating my twin son’s birthday. The food came out quick, the servers are very friendly and attentive, and the quality of the food was amazing. I will definitely return.
There was a little wait. You get in line to order then they will seat you after you have ordered. Pizza was humongous and delicious. Crust on the thin side, but not crispy thin. Great service too once you are seated. They made sure we always had drinks.
So we went an ordered the 37" pizza which by the way don't order unless you are extremely hungry or there are about 10 of you. We also had bread sticks and wings. They are really good all around. Pizza was a little greasy but still really good. Waitresses are extremely attentive which was surprising for how busy they were. We waited about 10 mins for a table and about 30 to 45 for pizza the bread sticks and wings were delivered immediately. I give it 5 out of 5. Definitely worth the drive.”
If you want to be part of culinary history at a South Texas landmark this is truly the place. The LARGEST pizzas within hundreds of miles and the best service around. This is significant because restaurants with Big Lou's customer volume trend to drift from excellent customer service. Not at Big Lou's!!!
The pizza was delicious and of course huge! Nice atmosphere, great service. It was full of customers that day, so the place was super lively. Our group had a great time.
Yummy! Does not disappoint! Good pizza and sandwich. Neat 'old fashioned' decor and bar signs. Very friendly staff, and attentive. We did not get the huge table-sized pizza but saw one go in the oven. It was a bit of a drive, but worth it.
The food was awesome, the service was very good. One of the brothers (pizza side), came out and mingled with the customers. That shows great service and down to earth people. Will be coming back.
+ Best NY style pizza in town! We always get the supreme pizza and have never been disappointed.
+ Wings are not bad either. Got the boneless wings and they're better than expected.
+ Dessert menu has great options. We always go for the chocolate cannolis.
- Long wait times. This isn't necessarily Big Lou's fault, bit their popularity ensures that they will be packed on weekends. We like to order for pickup to avoid waiting.
- Beer selection is nothing special.
We went on a Friday night. waited in line to put our names on the wait list for maybe 15 min. When we put our name on the list they set the wait time for the table for an hour and also took our order. We went to the bar an got drinks quick and went outside to wait. We only had to wait 20 min for our table. Our waitress was very fun and personable. She never let our drinks go empty. The pizza came out quicker than expected too. It was delicious. I would definitely recommend trying it!
