Wonderful bed and breakfast breakfast has French toast with sandwiched together with cream cheese heavenly! Great views. Don't let the long, windy, dark road leading to Big Bay scare you, you'll get there!

Just stayed at the lighthouse for the first time over the weekend. Loved it! The weather was terrible, but it made the stay even better honestly! The waves were crashing into the cliff, the wind was blowing ferociously, and the sounds put me to sleep both nights! I walked all over the grounds and took in the treacherous looking landscapes—completely amazing. I went up and outside the top of the lighthouse, and that was totally epic. The room was quiet, cozy, had a nice antique feel to it (if you like that kind of thing, which I do!). The innkeepers were nice and very chatty, telling stories of all their European adventures (they’ve been married for 35 years and love to travel). I loved hearing their stories! They know so much about the area and the history and the people as well. Already have plans to take my hubby up there next year for his birthday. There are lots of trails and beautiful sights on Big Bay Rd (550 to the locals) and it’s only about a 35-40 min drive to Marquette. Love this place!!

We had a fabulous time. We stayed in Kerper Bergan and would select this same room again. Clean, spacious, views of the lake and a cute fireplace. Breakfast was amazing and the Innkeepers are so nice! We would love to come back!

Great history along with a comfortable stay. The trip out to the lighthouse was definitely worth it for the views and access to the grounds. The house has plenty to read for a very relaxing stay. The food and morning was very calm and accommodating.

My wife and I went there last winter. After reading the other reviews the inn keepers seemed pleasant. But it was a slow time of year and there less busy. For us it was a once in a lifetime treat to be able to sleep in and wander around in a lighthouse and get to see a beautiful night sky. We loved the experience! Even in winter there was so many other things to do we didn't spend much time with the inn keepers.

One thing: fantastic views.!.. but, don't plan on walking on the beach..haha..It's about 60ft.straight down..

The lighthouse was lovely and clean. But, the keepers were an older couple who were obviously sick of doing this job. They repeatedly spoke to all of us staying there about there desire to get the heck out of there.
The man was verbally rude and condescending throughout the whole stay, starting within the first 5 minutes we arrived. Terrible and shocking. She made a wonderful breakfast and was stayed busy and exasperated with the whole idea of a new set of customers to attend to. It came as such a shock to me , that I have pledged to never pay 250.00 a night to be the victim of a bed and breakfast again.! Take heed of this warning.!!

I Absolutely Love the Lighthouse. It is is perfectly decorated and designed with a cozy, relaxed atmosphere but also has a high quality design and all the rooms are beautiful. Linda is a remarkable chef and they both have wonderful hearts.
The whole experience is amazing including the outdoor grounds, gazebo to lounge and read and a full service spa.

The location is beautiful and the experience is wonderful, as long as you don't have to interact with the inn keepers. The people who run it are incredibly rude for people who make their living by catering to tourists. The male innkeeper was very condescending toward me when it came to breakfast time. First of all unlike all the other bed and breakfasts I have stayed in this one does not care about the desires of the guests and instead cater to the desires of the innkeepers. Usually breakfast is served at the time the guest requests, but here you were informed it was between 8 and 10 am. Which would have been fine except it wasn’t ready at 8 am and wasn’t actually on the table until 8:40. Actually fruit and muffins were on the table at 8 am but when I attempted to take a muffin the male inn keeper told me to put the muffin back and that breakfast would be ready soon, like I was a child! Unfortunately my mother was traveling with me and I didn’t want to upset her and ruin her trip but I was livid! I could not believe this man was treating a pay customer with such disrespect. So we waited and had breakfast with the other guests, however the only part I ate was the muffin and fruit I was denied earlier because the eggs and bacon were not particularly appealing. So not only was the breakfast late and substandard it made us late for the activities of the day and we missed out on a waterfall entirely because it was impossible to make up the time we lost.

So the take away lesson is this, walk the grounds for free and tour the lighthouse for three dollars then stay at the Country Inn and Suites in Marquette. I have stayed at this hotel chain many times for work and have always found the staff to be friendly and the breakfast delicious and served on time.
