  Very tasty. I had the beef pastie with gravy and cole slaw. Service was wonderful. Staff friendly and helpful.

  We stopped on the way home from our camp in the UP. Our first time there. The pasties are delicious. We had the beef, and there was plenty of beef in the filling. Good flavor, delicious crust. People inside were very friendly and nice. These pasties are definitely in my top 3.

  Having no other U.P. pasties to compare it to, we enjoyed our beef pastie and chocolate malt. Not the ideal place if you're in a rush, but there seemed to be a lot of locals there which is always a good sign. Some cute kitschy Yooper decor and history proudly on display.

  We ordered the yupperman (large pasty) and it was great! Flaky crust, perfect flavor and the gravy was just perfect. We're going back before we head back south.

  Best I have ever had!' I will be driving up from Ann Arbor on Saturday just to enjoy one and bring back 6!! That will be a one day round trip and it is well worth it '

  Best Pasties around. My husband and I have been coming here for our anniversary for the last 20 years and always stop for our Pasties, smoked fish and the best Jerky around. Always had the best service around.

  Good god i would never eat anything else again if i could. Perfect crust, chewy steak, yummy gravy, flawless. Perfect anniversary meal!

  Family owned and operated. We have been bringing our growing family here for 14 years. 15 years back, we went to some place in Mackinaw City which was our mistake. Bessie's is worth the drive and wait. We have seen people leave the restaurant without ordering and they who don't know what the are missing.
