Berta's has been a must stop for us every time we are in San Diego. The service is not fast and rushed, which for us is perfect. It reminds us of Spain and Latin America where a nice pace is preferred. Food quality has never let us down and the specials always thrill! Skip Berta's if you are in a big rush or prefer TexMex, seek it out if you like authentic inspired cuisine served at a relaxed pace. Great beer and latin wine selection too.

Love Berta's. Been coming for years, just had another great meal this weekend. Delicious food at reasonable prices (especially for Old Town). Fare is better and more varied than all the touristy Mexican places. Always get some appetizers: empanadas, papas, whatever. The Honduran seafood soup is tremendous, tho have to catch it as a daily/weekly special.

There is a lot of variety to choose from when ordering. The service was quick, and most of the food is consistently good. I think the homemade sauces are the best part of the restaurant, also can't go wrong with the fish of the day. It's a little pricy.

The food was good, but the service was very slow. We ordered the avocado and mango salad for lunch and it took forever.

I recently had lunch there for the second time. Can't recall what the first meal was like but the second meal, mole and chicken was good. It was a different sort of mole, instead of a deep red, it was an orangey color, mild and tasty. The lady who served us told me that she only had a little mole left because it sells quickly. She was right, the serving of the mole was very small as the piece of chicken was not all covered by the mole. It was ok, I enjoyed it and would consider returning. The price was reasonable and there was ample parking.
