Kids love to ride the train, just $1.50 per ride. The playground area is huge, modern, and well equipped. Sprinkler play is a great added bonus during the summertime.

Very nice zoo and park. Travelled in from out of state but was pleased to see a discounted rate for local residents. What a great incentive to visit local places! The price was fair, even for non-Bergen county residents, and the kids (10, 9, 8, and 6) enjoyed it even in the 90* heat. We enjoyed the animals, though most were resting or in their cool dens to avoid the heat.
The train ride was cute, and the kids enjoyed it.
The playground outside the zoo was AMAZING, and the kids loved the sprinklers/splash area. Our visit was cut short due to impending bad weather, but we would visit again if in the area.response / report this review -

Great place to walk around and see a few animals. Plus outside the zoo area is a playground, merry go round, and pony rides and prices were reasonable

My 2 year old LOVED this zoo. They have a small train that circles the zoo (not the best views of the animals but my son still went crazy seeing them from a distance). Just beware the train is not built for taller people I'm almost 5'8" and the leg room was very limited. As always with zoo's my guilt sets in when I don't feel the animals have enough room so I do wish they had larger space especially the Mountain Lion but overall the animals seemed content and healthy :)
