I love the train, and I love the station. It is clean, well ordered and everyone who works there is generally friendly. But one employee, who has been there for years is such a righteous pain in the ass that I nearly always prefer some other mode of transport. She used to work morning shifts, but I found her tonight as I got off the 9:30 arrival to Bellingham. She hassled me about my claim ticket to pick up my backpack on the golf cart on a mostly deserted platform. She loves referencing airline security in her execution of duties, but she's flatly wrong. I don't have to produce proof to pick my bag off a carousel at an airport unless there's a dispute or something irregular. We are reasonable passengers in Bellingham and we deserve more normal treatment at the train station, for God's sake. This is not an isolated event. The employee in question has been harassing travellers for years.
Excellent intermodal station for both Amtrak and Greyhound which is just a two minute walk from the Alaska ferry terminal
I am impressed with the nice atmosphere and serve. I left the station with a smile!
I like that the transport is cheap and regular, but the last three train rides I've taken have all been at least an hour late. I like Amtrak but I'm getting very tired of not knowing when I'll actually get to where I'm going.
The greyhound bus was two hours late.
This is not an isolated incident. One train attendant (not sure what the PC name is) yelled at my boyfriend for not being there on time earlier today. Dude. We were early. He had a bike to store in the luggage cart, yes. But like I said, we were on time and the staff (?) crew (?) treated him like an idiot for not hustling his bike on. AND, like I said, not the first time. So completely and utterly unprofessional. Thumbs down. It's the bus from now on. Jerks.
First time on amtrac from Portland to Bellingham. It's the way to go!!!!
Nothing special, its a regular bust station. There is a bus stop to get to the Bham station, which was convenient.
Lylene & I caught Amtrac to Seatte so that we could watch the Mariners Opener with the Huston Astros. We had a delightful trip down & back. If you have not seen the renovations of King St Station in Seattle you are in for a surprise. If you are planning a trip to Seattle, I'd highly recommend Amtrac - sit back & enjoy the ride.
