Cannot agree more with what other reviewers say about Dr. Issa! She truly is a headache specialist. If you have migraines, you need to see her, and not just any general neurologists. I've tried many and didn't find an improvement. Migraines is her specialty. She took the time to understand my condition and find the right treatment for me. She carefully taught me how I can control my migraine. I never knew that there are so many options and treatments available out there that I've never tried. Like the others say, there will be some trials and errors, but she will continue to work with you to find the right one. With just one visit, I've already felt an immediate improvement. She also has the nicest, most accomodating staffs in her office. I'm very grateful for her.

I have been working w/ Dr. Issa since September last year to gain control over my migraines. She really works with you to figure out what you need and what your options are. I've suffered from Migraines since adolescence, but last year they had worsened significantly; severely impacting my ability to work or really enjoy my personal time. Prior to seeing her I had been getting my migraine meds prescribed by my PCP as well as anti-nausea pills, when I had my first appointment she told me that what I had been prescribed wasn't even the correct dosage to work for acute migraine treatment. Years of migraines being under treated and not a single provider ever referred me to a specialist.
Dr. Issa really takes the time and goes over your history, her paperwork is really in depth, so that she can figure out the best courses of action for your treatment plan. Including any side effects commonly known to occur in the prescriptions prescribed, which helped take some of the "Is it the meds or is it something I should be concerned about" out of the equation. Especially as a new patient getting preventative and acute treatment it was great being able to meet with her every 6 weeks to go over what was working, what was different between this and the last visit, and what could be changed if side effects were bothering me.
Long story short: If you suffer from chronic headaches or even chronic migraines you NEED to do yourself a favor and schedule a New Patient appointment with Dr. Issa. I had immediate improvement within my first month on the treatment plan she created for me. I went from 7+ migraines a month as of Sept 2022 to 1 migraine every 2-3 months, and with the acute medications she's prescribed me, the migraine that does occur doesn't take me out of commission anymore.response / report this review -

I have suffered from headaches for most of my life and seen various doctors over the years. I was never able to get my migraines under control and would have them almost daily at times. Dr. Issa took time to explain what migraines are and how I should be working to treat them. She took the time to listen to my history and wanted to know about not just the headaches that I was currently having, but the ones that I was having in the past as well so that she could better understand and treat my migraines. I haven't had a headache in almost 2 weeks and for the first time in a couple of years, I don't have to worry about if I'll have a migraine that day.

This is an update to a prior review I’ve written. I started seeing Dr. Issa in late fall of 2021.
Dr. Issa is both brilliant and highly compassionate, a rare find in a doctor.
She was the first of the five total neurologists I saw that spent an incredible amount of time with me and diagnosed the problem with perfect precision. She’s also very tenacious and never stopped fighting for my health.
When I began with her I was having 4 migraines a week. I was completely debilitated.
Over the following year I was able to stop quarterly Botox shots, discontinue Ajovy monthly preventative shots, discontinue Zofran and lastly, reduce weekly Trudhesa spray to every few months.
I am essentially Migraine Free, only something like a preservative hidden in a sports drink triggers a migraine and it’s rare.
I was able to gain employment and do a large family move to another state migraine free.
She gave me my life back and I’m forever indebted to her.response / report this review -

Dr. Issa has saved my life. I suffered from headaches at least 15-20 days a month. Thanks to her dedication and hard work in medical research, she was able to reduce my headaches to almost nothing. I am able to live a normal life! My headaches no longer control my life. Please keep in mind that you have to follow through with her requests. Some medications are a hit and miss. You cannot give up when the first medication does not work. You have to trust that the right medication is out there and it takes multiple trail and errors to determine the correct solution. Have faith in her hard work! She is here for you! Dr. Issa is a miracle worker!
