Great for familys or groups of friends! We had so much fun here on our yearly ski getaway. A great place to relax have a drink and hear some great music. Staff is friendly and helpful. Facilities are clean and conveniently located. Views are amazing! Lots of activities for everyone definitely check this place out all seasons offer some kind of fun!

My son and I both ski/board at Beech during the winter and downhill mtn bike there in the summer and have nothing but great things to say. Oh and the skybar and brewery, love those places!

With the 2 new top to bottom lifts being installed, ever improving snow making and updates and improvements to the brewery and Beech Tree I see nothing but a full commitment from management and owners to make Beech the go to resort in the southeast!

1st time at Beech Mountain. The boys running the mountain were awesome! Great personality and fun. We had a great time. HOWEVER, Beware of Caleb behind the register. He is not a honest man. The lift is out of order and a van + trailer brings you up the mountain. Not exactly what I had planned for when driving from Florida (28hrs round trip).

Note: This review pertains to the Beech Mountain Brewing Co. Taproom and Grill in the resort.

Let me save you the trouble and money by telling you how to replicate this experience on your own:

1. Beer: Find a friend who wants to get into home brewing but has never brewed before. Give him space to experiment. And fail. We’re talking overcarbonated brews that are not at all true to style. This is what you get when you hire Will Young, who previously brewed dishwater at Blind Squirrel.

2. Food: Buy frozen mozzarella sticks. Heat them. Let them sit. Repeat.

3. Service: Find a dirtbag and make them a manager. We visited Beech Mountain Brewing Co. with our four-year-old daughter and her friend, who were playing on the stage in an otherwise EMPTY restaurant. Without warning, the owner (Will Young) snuck up behind us and started yelling: “I have to draw the line somewhere!” He could have asked us nicely to intervene at any point during our $100 meal instead of belligerently questioning our parenting.

4. Atmosphere: Here’s where it all comes together. Take your dishwater beer, your frozen mozzarella sticks, and your dirtbag manager, and bring them to the locker room of any gym. Well, not any gymPlanet Fitness and LA Fitness would be too nice. We’re talking the local joint your loser friend from high school opened in an abandoned strip mall as a cover to sell steroids. If you don’t want kids to play in your restaurant, don’t have carpet that looks like it was ripped up from a childcare center in a 24-hour gym.

I used to like beech but This place is getting not worth the time anymore

First of they need to use the tiller on the pisten bully it's pure ice no loose snow getting edge on these slopes is damn near impossible

There lifts are always having issues

What snow they are blowing is way to dry

I really think they only care about the park rats that's pretty much all you see around here in which half need the ass beat Since they can't control themselves always flying down the mountain running into people cutting people off and running their mouths

Most advertising is for their freestyle park bs or some board rat competition demo

Beech was our first downhill of the summer. It was race weekend but still we had no problem getting on the shuttle and all the riders had great trail etiquette. We had a blast and will definitely be back!

This review is for their snow tubing:

We arrived at the ticket booth at around 4:45pm thinking of buying the 6pm tickets since we looked at their time slots online before our arrival and knew that they were either 4pm or 6pm. The attendant said we could buy the 4pm one and we would be allowed more time (that way we could have our hour and 45 minutes). We thought that was weird, but the tubing was completely empty so maybe he was right. So we paid our $64 tickets to go tubing. The attendants did not even check the tags. They were not friendly and did not even acknowledge us at first. As we expected sharply at 5:45pm we got kicked out because the session was over even though we were told we were going to be allowed to stay longer. And FYI there was no one waiting for the 6pm session. There was no one there! This was fine because honestly we got to do it a lot in the 45 minutes we actually got because we had it for ourselves, but we would have liked some clarity on that. Other people with kids might have not been too happy. They honestly needed more brake pads or whatever because every single time I almost went over the last hill to the other side. They kept telling me to put my feet down to brake after I passed the second brake pad, but honestly I was breaking the entire way down and even so I couldn't stop.

Conclusion: We had a blast because it was just my boyfriend and I and it was a lot of fun, but for the price I expected more. There might be better places for snow tubing in NC.

The skiing was great and most of the places to grab something to eat or have a coffee had reasonable prices and customer friendly staff.

However.the place that sells last minute things that you would have to waste half your day to go off grounds and find or that you forgot back at your hotel, is the pits! Just awful that you would have to pay a week's worth of ski passes for a pair of gloves or a ski mask. Ya, I know, if you get to the point where you are buying from these fools, you are the fool. Items such as gloves, socks, masks, sun glasses or any must have item that you forgot this place sells them but at incredibly jacked up rates.

And they must go out of their way to hire the snottiest and dumbest kids, and rudest adults to "sell" you what your are desperate for. They wait to let you "discover" the price when it is time to pay. I had to buy heavier gloves because my hands were freezing and the price I paid was as much as a two-day lift ticket. Also, unlike what they tell you even if you keep the tags on and have the receipt, the little snots will claim the items are used after you walk out the door and that they can't take them back. I dont "remember the name" but it is the only ski shop on the first level, before the four person chair lift, after the skating rink.

This was my experience, you may have a different one, and I hope you do. My $$ advice, do yourself a favor, take the hit, drive down the road, go back to your hotel and get whatever it is you desperately need from a different business.

Other than this really my girlfriend and I had a really good time.

This is our favorite place to ski in the area. When they get the upper trails open they have a some nice long runs. It's the south, so they have to deal with some warm winter weather but at 5,505 feet they get plenty of real snow and cold temps, and when they make snow they go to the effort to make it when conditions are favorable for making good snow.

Visited this location today and was extremely disappointed. The 4 person lift going to the top of the mountain was closed all day. No one bothered to share this information when we were purchasing tickets. This would have influenced our decision to ski here. We spent more time waiting in line to get to the top of the mountain then we did skiing. Definitely not worth our time or money. Also some of the locals told us this is a regular occurrence so we shouldn’t be surprised.

ICE ,ICE need to groom need a hill Mgr. that is active or something double chair lift stopped 3/4 the way up for 15 minutes so we watched snow makers turning on guns they never checked quality of snow and after being a snowmaker in upstate NY you could tell it was too dry from the chair ..the chair problem as we were told is an on going switch problem in the lift shack and the quad has been down for a while come on people NO WI-FI in lodge for those non skiers that are just watching

The equipment rentals are adequate, but these people have no idea how to run a ski resort. This may be a good place to visit on a not busy weekend, but when there are crowds, this place is not fun. The staff are rude. You can’t book activities online so you have to stand in long lines to get tickets and frequently find out they’re sold out. We waited in line for 30 minutes to ice skate for a two hour session, and then only had 1 hour to skate (which costs $15 per person). They are understaffed. The cafeteria food is pretty bad. They still use a manual system for equipment rentals and returns, which means long lines and chaos. I might return but I would need to know for sure that it wouldn’t be busy.

Decided to go to beech mountain because I thought it was the premier place to ski in North Carolina. Boy was a wrong. Their main lift was down the whole day, on a Saturday! Nobody told us the lift was down when we bought lift passes. They also did a horrible job managing the lines. We waiting an hour for the lift to the top! Oh and online it says the bar at the top has food. That is false, no food just two rude bartenders.

We went skiing this weekend at Beech, what a waste. Yesterday the lifts started 25 minutes late and they only had 2 lifts open. After 4 runs the line at the only lift going up to the upper runs was so long it wasn't worth the wait. When we left at lunch time they still only had 2 lifts open. We went back today. This time much worse. They only started 2 lifts that only serviced th bunny slopes, they were late, and the 2 lifts going to the upper mountain were closed. After a 40 minute wait to ski down a bunny slope we left. Nobody seemed to know when the other 3 lifts might get started. Next time I will go and ski Sugar. Don't waste your time or money here.

If I could give this resort a ZERO, I would! The staff, along with the general manager, are some of the most unprofessional and rudest people I have encountered and have no concern for safety in my opinion. I think their main objective is $$ generated! There are so many other great places to ski. I would choose Sugar Mountain if skiing in NC and SnowShoe in WV. Or better yet, go out west or Canada where there is powder and not ice making for a much better experience. Ice is extremely dangerous, especially for children and my son is an expert snowboarder who sustained a very bad break as a result of their icey slopes which are not well maintained. And btw, they currently have a lift not working. They are offering a $50 credit if I want to drive back there and use for next year! Our family will not be returning to Beech now or in the future.

We brought the kids to ski. Had a great lesson with Kelsey and they spent the next day at snow Kamp with Cameron. They can’t wait to ski again. Exactly the great experience we were looking for.

We were there mid-week and the only downside was nothing in the village was open for the grown ups during the day.

Today was our wedding anniversary and we brought our kids here to ski. THIs was absolutely the worst place to bring your family. I have skiied by whole life and have taken my family other places for hours and they have done great. Our day began when the ticket counter told me I had to pay for my 2 yr old to ski when the sign CLEARLY stated 4 and under ski free with paid adult. She said it was holiday so we had to pay. Then when I stated nowhere on the sign did it state that, she then said well ok he can ski free. Let me begin by saying the place is incredibly unsafe to the minimal workers to the chaotic areas around the lifts3-4 lines to 1 lift. To step up in the snow you’re looking at a two foot deep step up with zero stairs to get yourself there. The staff at the slopes as well as the administration are terrible. There was a sweet long dark hair girl at the counter in the admin office who was sweet and the girls in the nursery were kind but I have never been to such an unorganized place. This place ruined our day and left us so upset that it ruined our anniversary.

Always love visiting Beach Mountain Resort. I always try to go in January right after a snow. Reminds me of a postcard with all the shops, restaurants and lodge. Hanging out by the huge fireplace with friends. You can ski right up to the lodge walk right in. Did I mention the ski lodge at the top of the mountain!

My wife, son, and I came up for a day of skiing this past Saturday. We had a wonderful time! Even with only half of the slopes open, the snow was still in great condition with not too much ice. This was my son's first time skiing, and he absolutely loved it and wants to return. The crowds were really light, so we did not have to wait too long for anything while we were there. Of course I understand that was probably due more to the time of year than anything. I'm sure they are much busier during the peak season. Regardless, we had a great time, and we will definitely be back again

Beech Mtn Resort was Beautiful. The tubing we were not impressed with. Unless you go down double you will not make it half way down then you have to walk the rest of the way to the bottom. Sledding was fun, well worth it.
