The BVI is a superb place to stay if you're visiting the Catskills. The food is impeccable and the ambience is amazing. Great place for the whole family

Wonderful staff and lovely grounds. We came for Thanksgiving and had a great visit. Looks like a great place to do some serious trout fishing (season was closed when we visited). Lots of hiking nearby. Only a 2 hour ride from midtown NYC. Only MINOR detail

We love this Inn. The staff is warm and helpful. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The facility has everything you could possibly need or desire; pool table, gym, indoor pool, basketball court..not to mention, fishing and hiking right out the door. We highly recommend it for a relaxing breath of fresh air!

This is a beautiful old inn in one of the prettiest valleys in the Catskills. It's only two hours by car from New York City but you feel like you are away from it all. Great service and great food. Hiking, fishing, tennis, etc. right on the property.

Epitome of hospitality. The staff are all incredibly warm, polite and kind, and really go out of their way to make you feel at home. The experience is more like being in a family member's house than being in a hotel. Truly intimate setting; the staff memorizes your family's names and are accommodating to unique situations. The Inn has a gym, pool, yoga room, free weights, hiking trails, game room, and a 24 hr self-serve icecream parlor (kids loved it!). The common areas include massive wood-burning fireplaces, games, antique furniture, a bar and an inclusive country-home atmosphere.

The staff is very pleasant and the grounds are great. The rooms are very dated grandma chic styled. They said that they just did multimillion dollar renovation, but I'm not sure what it was like before.
The food is also very good.
Cons:
This place is incredibly overpriced and their policies make very little sense. I would not chose to stay here if I was traveling through the area.response / report this review
