Not only is this place outdated, but the cleanliness of this Inn could not be worse. There were spiderwebs engulfing the majority of the windows and doorways through the Inn. Everyone raves about the breakfast, the whole place smells like a grease trap. This is in addition to the collection of stuffed bears that appear to have collected mountains of dust for the past 20 years. This is the kind of place that makes you wish you spent the extra money for a nicer place, no matter how much.
Great bed and breakfast. Comfy atmosphere- comfy bed. Great home cooked breakfast. Bill, the owner, is great. I would highly recommend this place.
Lets start with the positive: Fabulous homecooked breakfast, very friendly hosts, cozy/ homey feeling inn. They have a very unconventional check-in, it's outdated, a bit dusty, and run down. All in all it's not a terrible place to crash, but it is a bit discouraging to pull up to.
Comfy place, little discouraged by the upkeep of it, but it served all our needs for a fun filled weekend. Home cooked breakfast was amazing and the hosts were super friendly!
It was okay great pancakes
All in all I had a good experience.
Expedia wasn't too much help when I accidentally booked the room for the wrong weekend, but I called Bears Lair myself and they were happy to change the date. They were also allowing me to stay the single night that I needed.
There are a ton of stuffed bears aroundbut it IS called Bears Lair Inn so, duh of course there are stuffed bears therewhere else would they be? lol.
It's not a 5 star hotel and I knew that going in. I would suggest that they fix the bumpy driveway and add a little card in the room that says what the wifi password is, but the inside is clean, the room was comfortable, and the hosts are helpful and friendly.
They even provide a mini fridge in the common area for guests to use. Not something I've seen in lots of B&B's but super helpful!
Breakfast was also tasty and just what I wanted. They gave you a choice of what they were cooking and the choices included all of what you would want for a hot breakfast. I got the french toast and it came with (perfectly) crunchy bacon and potatoes. They had real maple syrup and I think the french toast had cinnamon sugar on it too.
I think Bears Lair is worth a stay if you are not wanting to spend an arm and a leg like a lot of other places in the area.
Very friendly host. Delicious breakfast.
Great quaint inn, with a lovely breakfast and warm welcoming host. Also has good WiFi. Would definitely stay again.
Quaint bed and breakfast, lovely innkeeper. Had a wonderful stay!
Une ambiance fort chaleureuse dans cette belle auberge des Cantons de l'est au Canada où nous avons été reçus fort amicalement. ..
Bill is an incredible host and makes amazing breakfast!
