If you love the outdoors and great food, this is THE place to eat.
You really just cant complain about great service, good food with great portions, and the scenery of being right on the lake.

Tried the bear belly b&g today for 1st time. Had Greek burger. Recommended by server. Different and very good. Atmosphere and service very good. Just seemed a little pricey. 2 burgers, 2 soft drinks, $35 (w tip).

If you're looking for a wonderful family restaurant, or a place to grab an amazing view with a great beer, with awesome food and appetizers look no further!
The staff was friendly and helpful!
The food was delicious ( I highly recommend the Dave burger and Wednesday Wings!)
The beer selection was phenomenal. They had Kentucky Breakfast Stout from Founders on tap along with 7 other great beers.
Last but not least, the view. The view from the restaurant is phenomenal.response / report this review -

A wonderful, family friendly restaurant that has something for everybody no matter what may strike your culinary fancy. The chef clearly puts time and passion into his menu and food. Everything I've had has impressed me and leaves me wanting more. The owners and waitstaff have a way of making you feel welcome and that you're a part of their family from the beginning of the dining experience through the end. We highly recommend visiting the Bear Belly Bar and Grill, you won't regret making this your dining choice, over and over again.

Mainly the owner who was severely disrespectful. I entered the bar n went to use the restroom and she sent the cook in to tell me I had to leave the property immediately or she was going to call the sheriff. No lie. While it was amidst a downpour. I asked for an explanation on why and the Cook could not come up with one . I had plenty of money in which I let the cook know I was prepared to buy some food from the restaurant. He said no. I was shocked so I asked to speak with the owner and the cook said if I continued that she was going to call the sheriff. All of this for absolutely no reason. complete and utter disrespect. I still to this day have no idea why I was even kicked out of the place. So without further ado I give this place one star solely for the owner. This is too small of a community to be disrespecting paying customers, I've already wrote a few articles on the Bear Belly and the incident that occurred. Absolutely no reason for the disrespect.

Exceptional service, great food! I was in Houghton for 10 days for work and tried many different restaurants, Bear Belly was by far the best!
