My issue is not with a specific facility or the medical treatment provided. My issue is with their billing department. This is the 2nd time in the last few months where I have received a bill for a DOS that happened almost 3 years ago. I had to spend hours of my time validating that I didn’t already pay the amount which I’m still not confident because I was on a different HSA account at that time. I will avoid using Baycare facilities because your billing is awful. Billing out of nowhere for a 3 year old DOS is ridiculous.
Terrible Service. Phone system is terrible ----The whole thing is to give you a run around and waste time. It's bad enough that BayCare is all messed up but to start every call with a 10 minute commercial about BayCare or of 10 options on the phone and never get to talk to a real live human being!!!! It's not worth it and very frustrating. Do not go to or use anything with BayCare on it!! I had to give it a one star to make this work but they do not deserve even one star
If you find the right doctor, you may be lucky to get a reasonable service. There are some doctors who have no clue about the subject matter. Patient portal is a joke most of the time. Some doctors will not even look at it for patient communication. The phone system option 5 asks you to take the option to call you back. Will never hear back from them even after the system said you are the #1 on the list. I was told some insurance companies will not honor this system for payment. The response even in the case of an emergency for a patient is 48 hours according to the phone answering people. Need to improve for better care of the patients. You may not hear back from them until you are dead. Patient complaint is another joke. Must be severely understaffed, according to some employees. Sadly, there are several care facilities like this in Florida.
I would never refer anyone to the baycare residency program 1201 1st Winter Haven for care. My last visit was appalling, Dr. Wilke who at the time was over seeing that visit with resident Dr. Owen, her reccomendation was completely judgemental and put me in a high risk situation,as well allowing Dr.Owen to to tell me that's all they could do for me. After seeking another physician the problem was immediately taken care of and I am still receiving medical services.
Please don't bother signing up for Baycare Plus Medical Advantage Plan unless you want to go to a doctor who has to see patients every few minutes, like a factory setting.
I arrived five minutes late to my 9:00 am appointment with Dr. William Haas, family practice at Van Dyke St Joseph's Medical Center, Tampa, Florida. The receptionist spent approximately five minutes to check me in and to change my address from "homeless," {which this was the third time I had brought it to their attention}, to my correct home address. Then, at 9:10 am, a nurse from the back came out and informed me that the doctor could not see me today because, "I only had five minutes left of my appointment to see the doctor."
During the years I have been going to this doctor I had never been late. I am a senior citizen and had to drive over 15 miles to his practice.
Dr. William Hass from Baycare is not worthy of my healthcare. Baycare Plan is not worthy of my healthcare. If they are going to treat patients like cattle, I don't want to be part of this organization.
I am glad it is open season on healthcare because I am actively looking for a doctor and system that will have a little more compassion with its patients.
