The afternoon of Oct. 24, 3017, when I came to get my prescriptions around 2:00 pm, the lady at the pick up counter, without ever smiling, curtly informed me my prescriptions weren't ready, though the person on the phone the evening before had assured me they would be ready that night. The lady brought only one prescription to the counter, though I'd refilled several. When I asked what the matter was, and why the others weren't ready, she replied just as curtly, again without smiling, "They're not ready. They're still counting," which wasn't really an answer to my question. Why were they "still counting" when I'd been assured the prescriptions would be ready the night before? Her answer was a slap in the face, not a wise or professionally courteous thing to do to someone who is not well. She informed me my pick ups would be ready in fifteen minutes, then quickly altered it to twenty, all in a brusque, 'don't bother me' attitude. When I heard the page some fifteen minutes later (the only positive part of this experience) and returned to the counter, a second employee, who never smiled either, again brought only one prescription to the counter (!). Not feeling well, and being near tears by this time, I again asked where the others were. They turned out to be right behind him. "It used to be different," I said. Finally the pharmacist came, with a genuine smile, and asked if I had any questions, as one bottle had the same medication but of a different. I was so relieved to see one pharmacy employee who smiled I said again, "It used to be different. People at the pharmacy all used to smile and courteous with customers," and gave way to tears. The pharmacist sympathetically asked if I wanted a kleenex, and when I said yes, she brought me a small packet and said I didn't have to pay for it. I thanked her very much. But it shouldn't have gone that far.
Things used to be different.
Pharmacy is very incompetent. Was told prescription would be ready in an hour, then went to pick it up and after waiting in line for 30 minutes with 1 person running the pharmacy they told me they hadn't started it yet after trying to give me my sister in law's prescription instead. I came
Back the next day and still not ready yet.
Prefer to shop local over the big national chains and better selection of local brands then the national chains also.

Some of the employees are nice; others will argue about the price that is stayed on the sticker price.
I like this Bartell's. It's easy and well laid out, grab some wine and some ice cream and run.
