Probably South Florida’s best remaining B&N location, spanning one and one-half floors, and with almost everything you can imagine in stock. The parking lot has space for probably 250 vehicles and it’s easily accessible from east and west Kendall and the Florida Turnpike. The cafe is also enormous.
I live this place and wish I would live here. If only they had more sitting areas I’d be here everyday. I love that it closes late and they’re usually always well stocked and have tons of sales, especially if you’re also a member. It’s the only Barnes & Noble where you can sit down and not be harassed by staff to buy something and leave. However a lot of people treat this place like a library which means some of the books might seem used.
They're well stocked with great books and other items. I won't go back, though, as I don't like being hounded by a sales person from the moment I entered the store. I asked to be allowed to look around on my own, but she just wouldn't stop telling me what she thought I should buy!
Good place to go and read And get a book while drinking some coffee from the conveniently placed starbucks also a great place for kids to go in there kid section to picks some books i love going there
The staff is nice if you ever get to talk to them. Call and you will be placed on hold until you die. Use the web to reserve a book, and you will wait so long for a response that you might as well go someplace else if you want it quick, or online if you don't. Consultation in the store? You'll wait in line for a half our to find out that they can't find what the web says is in stock. They are chronically understaffed. Decided to write this as I wait in line. 15 min in physical line. 30 min and counting on hold.
Great selection of books. Well organized. The kids love visiting the store. Only qualm is that they don't match prices, not even their own online prices.
I have my own private nickname for this store: "Paradise". I just LOVE coming to this WONDERFUL place, where I'm literally surrounded by BOOKS!!!!! The customer service is GREAT. too, and that includes the people in the snack bar! Very friendly and helpful!! I could spend HOURS here!!!!
Placed order May 31st. Standard mail delivery. Item was shipped a few days after and is estimated June 20th arrival.21 days to ship a book? This is not 1987. B&N needs to handle their 3rd party shipping speeds better than this. I assume some day ill actually get the book. I WONT be ordering from B&N in the future.
UPDATE: Changed from 1 star to 3 as the book did arrive after 13 days instead of 21.
Excellent service at cafe and check-out. You have a handsome building, unique opportunities to browse and select at one's own pace. Thanks and best regards.
Instead of sitting on the floor, I was able to sit on their one and only table upstairs. I like to read and study up there. Also, the only outlets they have for me to use are upstairs. The escalator that is suppose to go down still doesn't work and their baristas at Starbucks do not know the menu much.
I don't understand why they do events for the store. You have Wonder Woman Day and it was terrible. They weren't ready. The employees weren't excited. They wanted to push it back til 11:30. This is Wonder Woman for crying out loud. This is the comic book figure that put Women on the center of everything. The movie is the biggest blockbuster out now. And they weren't ready. What a joke.
Store still has a lot of stuff but ashamed at the events.
Filled with friendly staff and books, Barnes and Noble is a pretty neat place to go when you want to find a physical book but don't have the time to order it now. Pretty much how it was for me with "Game of Thrones". They don't only have books though, no no, B&N now carry toys for the kids and board games galore. They've also got a couple of cool figurines and trading cards. Overall, B&N is a usually a nice place to go when you want to relax and read a book or have some coffee. Usually on the weekends a couple of old timers head over to the cafe to have their chess matches. B&N gives you that nice feeling finding a pocket dimension and just getting away from the world for just a bit.
