Great pizza & wine; informed bartenders; happiness.
Went here on a Wednesday, not busy. Told we could sit anywhere (outside). Tables were dirty, waited over 5min for water from hostess then another 5 min b4 server came over, he did thank us for waiting. Ordered drinks and dinner- a beer and a fancy drink- waited another 10 min for drinks. The server was kind and polite but seemed that he was not experienced or not trained for this type of restaurant. Our group had Beet salad, burger, and charcuterie sandwich. The beet salad was tiny. The charcuterie sandwich had about 2 ounces of meat and both the meat and bun were charred beyond "grill marks". We had been here once b4 on a Sat after an Indians game and had better service and normal portions. Sad when businesses feel they are guaranteed business and don't work for the patrons. I don't recommend this place.
Dog friendly with an indoor section! Amazing burgers cooked just right, fresh ingredients, great fries, and very friendly service. Great beer selection, and the mimosa was made with fresh squeezed OJ. Will definitely be back!
Worst service ever. The red headed host/server who did not offer his name, never asked for our drink order. Then we waited quite a while for our food. My meal was luke warm cold and missing part of it and my mother never got her meal when she was the first to order. The server put the order in blaming it on my mother for not ordering when we all saw him write it down. The rest of us, even though we ate slowly finished before it came. We ended up cancelling the order and my mother went went without a meal. Definitely not worth the fancy atmosphere for less than mediocre food and terrible service.
I was pumped to try out BarCento for dinner last Friday with a group of friends. I ordered a side of spaghetti squash and the Bianco pizza. After all of my friends received their food about 25 minutes after placing their order, it took an additional 20 before mine and another friend's arrived.
We were very polite when the man brought them out. He let us know they would also be on the house, because "it was the right thing to do." I was excited and so pleased with the service at that point. It wasn't until after I paid that I realized the pizza was still included on the bill. The drink I ordered cost $2 more what was marked on the menu, and I was overcharged by about $5 on top of that.
I later returned to Bar Cento that same day to mention it, and see if I could receive a partial refund of the money I was owed, based on what the I was told prior about "the right thing" and the overall cost of the meal. Luckily when I arrived, the same man who stated my pizza would be taken off the bill was right there. I explained my situation, and he very quickly said that he remembered. He then stated that he definitely took the pizza off of a bill, but one of my friends may have been dishonest and received their pizza for free instead. Though he offered a quick sorry, he was entirely unhelpful in even examining my bill and the mistakes made. The man offered no further help or explanation.
I take a serious amount of pride in Cleveland's local restaurants and businesses, and I am extremely disappointed by the treatment I received when I followed up on this series of mistakes. I expected a far better experience.
Ordered takeout after being recommended to get pizza here. The staff was rude and seemed bothered by our being there. We ordered a house salad and literally got a takeout box of lettuce Nothing else. Just lettuce. The pizza and specialty fries were mediocre at best as well. Definitely not worth the price. I don't understand the hype around the place and would recommend going anywhere else before stopping here.
Went there on 3-18-17. Sat at the bar. Service was very poor. Got our drink order in after 15 minutes of waiting. Then had to ask for someone to come over and take our food order after another 20 minutes of waiting. Never asked if we wanted more drinks or how the food was. There are plenty of other places to go eat and drink in this city, I suggest you find one and skip this place.
Fries are incredible. Loved the pizzas - especially the one with bacon & apples. Good beer list.
Service was really good! But we went there for the pizza, and neither of us were impressed. The marinara pizza was soggy in the middle, and the duck pizza was way too spicy (I don't remember seeing any notation on the menu that it was THAT spicy). Maybe this was just a one time thing, maybe our expectations were raised too high because I heard they have the best pizza in Ohio, but we were not impressed. And it was expensive!!!
Awful place. Wait staff is not trained. Waited nearly half-hour to get drinks, and food was brought at different times.
Ordered "Eggs Benedict" and received the most disgusting thing I've ever seen, nothing like real eggs benedict, cold.Bob Evans makes better. The hamburgers we ordered were $14 for a patty and some onions. Unbelievable.
If you're looking for anything closely resembling customers service and value, you won't find it at Bar Cento.
