Great place in old town. Close to all and rooms are nice and clean with a nice outside pool with hot tub jets. All staff very friendly.

They don't offer military discounts to the MANY disabled and retired veterans who served this country, only active duty (??). Website says they have availability for a particular room, then when you inquire, it isn't available AND they proceed to offer you rooms that are $40-$60 more expensive. Why would I forgo a discounted room, full breakfast and complete privacy for a compatable rate with a reputable hotel? I wouldn't. No thanks.

Very accommodating stay, I needed late check in and easily found the keys that were left behind for me by the staff. Clean room with a comfortable bed, nice relaxing patio area with nice tall trees for shade, and a pair of friendly cats that hang out on the grounds. I would gladly stay at Authors again if I'm back in KW.

This place is great!! Very cozy and clean, perfect for a couple going to Key West for a few days. We stayed in the Library room and loved it! Its located in the heart of key west. Just rent some bikes and explore the area!! We rented bikes from Eaton bike rentals and they dropped them off right at our front door! GO HERE YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!!
