Easily my favorite location.
Hiked the mountain, came back down, and decided to grab a bite to eat.
Quick service, great atmosphere. Stayed and talked for hours.
It was definitely busy, but the setup is nice and spacious, and we were comfortable the whole time. Going back again soon!response / report this review -

Nice environment, great service. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. I had a chicken enchilada and the the chicken was in chunks. I personally never enjoyed chicken enchilada that used chunks rather than shredded. The beans were good, and the vermicelli was fine. Overall, the prices weren't bad.

We've been coming here for 20 years and it's been pretty consistent. The food and drinks are good, the chips and salsa are the best. The chips are a mix of corn and flour and the flour chips are so yummy. We actually bought a bag of flour chips and container of salsa to take home -- I think they were $5 each. The restaurant's location and ambiance on the patio is what makes this place. The patio is huge and almost always hoppin and lively. The bacci ball is lots of fun to play while you wait for a table or for food. The inside bar always has live music. It's just a great date place or night out with girlfriends spot or yummy dinner joint with the family. There almost always is a wait for a table as it is right across the street from a resort.

This really is a gem of a restaurant. It has very typical family Mexican food. But, they also have a vegetarian options! The food is delicious! Good for families to. Inside isn't as loud.

A true hidden gem in the valley. A perfect escape to feel like your actually at a Mexican bar in on the beach. The restaurant is rather large and the food is always delicious. I mainly go for the outside patio area which to me is one of the best in Phoenix. It is a dog friendly patio with a bocce ball court. I highly recommend coming to Aunt Chiladas.

This is where my wife and I had our first date and where we got married on the patio.
We love the family atmosphere and even the dog patio and menu. Food is always good and just enjoy hanging out with friends.

Wonderful place! Loved to hear the history from the knowledgeable, friendly and proficient server! The atmosphere is warm, inviting and rustic. Very comfortable! Ant to top it off the food was terrific. Best meal in Arizona I had out while travel in from Colorad! Thank you!

Great historical location, with lots of room, 3 separate bars plus separate dining only areas. Great for groups! Sensationally unique flour chips. Awesome staff, happy hour and nightly events. Check out their website!!

Horrible! The outside mister system is pathetic. When I called the restaurant ahead to see if they had misters out on the outside patio, I was assured that they did. I also asked if it was comfortable to sit outside. I was also assured yes, it was . We were meeting out of town friends who had their dog, for dinner, so I was looking for a dog friendly place to go. When I got there, I was shocked to see my friends sitting there sweating with just a few misters out and the umbrellas were blocking any mist fortunate enough to make its way down. I hurried to get the umbrella down. The manager saw me and took out the umbrella from the center of our table, but I had to go to the tables left and right of us and take them down. It didn't help much. No wonder we were the only people out there. It was ridiculously hot! If we could ,we would have gone somewhere else!!!!Aunt chiladas Restaurant has been around over 30 years, but I guess I was never there when it was hot.Great Place when the weather is nice! If they can't afford a decent mister system then they should close the patio when it's hot. The server and food were great!

Great ambience. Historic building and history. Be sure to read the information about the restaurant on the menu. Did you know there were mercury mines in Phoenix? Very nice large patio. The food is delicious.

I used to love coming here for margarita's, chips, and salsa. I even had a real meal every now and then, but mostly was a happy hour customer. What I do remember about those meals, however, was they were your cheesy, Tex-Mex style meals - filling and at a fair price. Now, however, my view has been shattered.
The last two times I've gone I have been disgusted by the food and service. 1. I'm not sure how, but the food has gone from mediocre to horrible. The last time I went my plate came out freezing cold and the meal was clearly thrown together from some 'meal in a box' concept that bore no resemblance to actual Mexican food.
2. The server who delivered the cold plate shrugged, put on her oven mitt (why I don't know), and took it back only to throw it back down 2-3 minutes later thank you microwave oven. There was not even an apology about the situation.
There are a lot of great Mexican places around this neighborhood, so no need to go here. Beware - it has now turned into a tourist trap for those staying at the Resort who have no other place to go for a meal. A sad impression for visitors and a sad impression of real cuisine.response / report this review -

This is not what I thought it was I was expecting something entirely cheesy whoever this restaurant is way better than I thought. The historic location and building are awesome enough but the biggest surprise was the quality of the food. I had the fish tacos and for the price they were very very good I could barely finish everything. They serve some old-school Mexican stuff I haven't seen since I was a kid and even though the service was really cheesy and geared towards old folks it was fast and efficient. The beer was cold. I would highly recommend this place and I will be back someday.

It's a nice place that has a reputation which proceeds it, and due to its location has afforded it a long running business streak in an exceptionally affluent area of the city. If this place were located in a regular part of town, it'd be just another Mexican food joint. Their food isn't bad, but it's definitely not good enough to justify the prices charged. Although their staff, for the most part, are wholly competent and polite. I wouldn't make a special trip to here unless I was in the area and had a little disposable income to lean on. Honestly, I'd rather have a burrito from Filiberto's whose restaurants are a bit dumpy, and unlike Aunt Chiladas, their food is simply amazing.
