This was THE WORST vacation of my life. We rented the larger Au train River Lodge about 2 months in advance for a 3 day weekend. The day we were schedule to check-in we received a call from the owner letting us know that he "accidentally" rented the place the night before to someone else (3 men, we had 10) and they wanted to stay the remainder of the weekend and he told them "yes!". We had several people traveling from 8-9 hours away to stay in this cabin and we had no place to stay. He refused to make the men leave! The guy was not even in town and after 6 hours of fighting with him, he finally told us we would have the smaller cabin (Au Train River Cabin) that he owned for FREE even though it slept only 6 and we had 10 people. We squeezed into this dirty little cabin that had no propane for the grill or gas for the boat for 3 days.

It has now been been several months since this horrid vacation and the owner has not refunded my credit card the $500 he charged us for the original booking. He refuses to refund us and I am having to fight with my credit card company to get any kind of a refund from this man.

All in all the cabin sits directly on the road with no woods around and is to small for even the 6 people it claims to fit. It was VERY dirty when we got there and the sheets were disgusting. We had no propane for cooking our food until late the second day when one of his "employees" brought us a tank. Very disappointing..I would never recommend this to anyone. The man who owns this joint is very deceptive and rude.
