Great place to find the new family member. The knowledgeable staff was friendly and allowed us to set our own pace. Being a "adopt, don't shop" person is made so much easier here.

I adopted a cat (100$ fee) whose record was clean according to their documents. As soon as I got home, I realized the cat was actually not OK but very sick (vomiting 3-4 times in less than 12hours and in a very bad condition). The next morning I went back to check the records. The agent asked me to take the animal to a hospital instead. I was so disappointed. Sadly, I gave the cat back. They refused to give back the $100 though.
Those people obviously don't know their job. Very inexperienced people who are just there to steal your money. This place should not be called humane society, nothing about it is humane or anything near that. I am sad for the poor animals that go through this place.

The doctors at Atlanta Humane Society are excellent. They listen to what the owner says, explains what they think should be the course of treatment, the options, and the cost at the beginning of each visit. They keep excellent records and also follow up to see how your pet is responding. I had a vet for many years, and after he closed his practice, I have a parade of new vets trying to find the right one. I need to look no further. Try this modern, beautiful facility and you too will be happy that your pet is receiving such good. care.

The animals are well cared for, and the staff is so pleasant. Our dogs actually get excited when they realize they're going to the vet. Our only complaint is that they never answer the phone. They're pretty good about email, but if it's time sensitive, leaving a voicemail or sending an email doesn't always cut it. Even so, we'd definitely recommend them to others -- knowing the vet and all of the staff truly care about our dogs keeps us coming back.

The people here are the best! They always explain what's going on very thoroughly and I never have to wait for my scheduled appointments. I once had a semi-emergency and needed an appointment that day and I was able to call them in the morning and they fit my dog in later that afternoon. I was very grateful for their flexibility because they are always booked in advance. Would highly recommend.

I would highly recommend the humane clinic at Howell mill. These people truly love animals and remember personal info about your pet. It is less expensive than most places and the care is excellent.

Anyone looking for pet should go there first. All of the animals are in need of good homes. Their staff is friendly. They offer veterinary services, spay neuter program, and training too. The costs are very reasonable and affordable.

Very clean facility and lost of lovely pups. My only criticism is to be more interactive with your visitors. We went in.. Looks at the cats.. the dogs and the puppies and wasnt even approached by a staff member about the services they offer or about adopting.

I had a horrible experience at the Atlanta Humane society due to a volunteer and an employee who would not allow me to see a dog because they assumed I was not serious about adoption due to my age. First of all, I am 18 years old. And am fully able to adopt a dog legally. I wanted a dog to be my companion for the next part of my life. I recently moved into my own house and wanted a companion. I am completely capable of caring for a dog. I have had multiple dogs my entire life. I am an experienced dog owner and was looking to adopt a furry friend of my own. I am upset on my behalf as well as the dog's. He would have had a wonderful home with a large yard and a person who loved him. Instead of basing my ability to care for an animal purely based on my age they should have based this on my experience with dogs, living situation, work situation, and over all personality. I really hope the dog gets to go to a loving home. I will be adopting from Lifeline Animal Shelter from now on. This is where I adopted both of my cats. I should've known to go to them!

There are a ton of animals available for adoption here. The staff is hit or miss. Some are nicer than others. I don't like the feeling of being rushed to select a pet and that's how I felt the last time that I went here.

They have great hours though so if you are looking for a place to adopt, this may be a good spot. This is a no-kill shelter and they can turn pets away. We ended up adopting from Dekalb Animal Control because they were overflowing with dogs and they can't turn pets away. As a result. Some animals are euthanized so they are in more need.
