Ashtabula Arts Center is a year-round, full service arts center. The summer theater productions are performed as Straw Hat Theater in an outdoor tent on the grounds. The inside has a full theater for the fall, winter and spring productions, which includes annual performances of "Nutcracker". They also have dance instruction, music instruction, arts and crafts classes, art and photography classes and displays, as well as the theater department. For a small city, this is a real gem for the area.
