I never felt so profiled until I went through this security check point at this airport. I have been to so many airports. Never have I ever felt so discriminated. I’m all about security check points, and people’s saftey. I’m that person that follows the rules. I’m that person that wears light clothing, flip flops,so I can go through security quicker, so the lines would go quicker. I’ve been patted down before at other airports, but I don’t mind because, I know it’s for security reasons. When they do pat downs. It’s usually wear they dectect the items are. It’s mostly my cuff jeans or where my jewelry is at. I was waiting in line, the TSA women was smiling at everyone. Until it came to our turns. Her reactions was total different to us. When I went through she ask if it was ok for her to pat me down, or would I like I private pat down. I told her I’m ok,with her doing it there. I understood it’s there job. Until she started patting me down like my inner thighs and all that other stuff. This was not the normal ones I usually get. She then goes to ask me if I have anything in my pockets, which I don’t. I answer, all I have is my I watch on my wrist. Which she continues to say, it’s my front pants. Which she goes on to say, probably it’s because, I tucked my shirt into my pants. Then she tellls me to put my hands out, and puts this stuff on my hands to scan.If I had some kind of chemical on my hands. She yelled at me to relax my hands. I have been to so many airports, and never have been treated that way. She patted me and couldn’t find anything on my clothes. I had a sleeveless shirt, bare foot, rip denim on. There is nothing on me. I felt like there was no need for her to scan my hands like that. That was my first time ever having my hands scan for chemicals. If she had found something on me ok then, do the hand scan. I felt like she was just trying to find something because of my race. First and last time flying out of there. Everyone else there was nice except that incident. I rather pay for parking and fly out of Pitt airport instead.
My favorite airport..security is a breeze, people are friendlyfree pkingin and out with no lines. Cuts my travel time by hours
Unbelievable. We had a 7 AM flight that we had to arrive at 6 AM for just to find out it was pushed to 3:30 PM. When we came back after trying to find something to do in the area, we were told AFTER going through security that our plane wouldn’t even arrive until 5:30 PM. Our plane was “stuck in another city”. You mean to tell me there wasn’t another aircraft on the East Coast available? We had to cancel our Disney tickets because of the inconvenience. The delay kept becoming longer and longer to the point my family, along with many others, began looking for flights leaving from the Pittsburgh Airport instead. Even the staff was lazy when it came to providing information. Sure, the tickets are a bargain, BUT AT WHAT COST? Do not waste your time trying to fly out of this airport. Pay the extra money and go elsewhere.
By far the friendliest airport experience I have ever had. Everyone working there was nice, perky, funny, and super helpful. Nothing bad to say about my experience flying Spirit from this airport.
Convenient to the Pittsburgh area. As well as St Vincent’s
Quick check-in; efficient guards; everyone is helpful and it's little so that makes it super convenient.
Great airport for quick travel. No hassle in and out process.
Love that it's local to me. Planes are good and very easy ticketing. But the front desk workers to the cops are extremely rude and are bully's .. they don't care about helping you they just push you around like you are a criminal!! I only buy my tickets online or over phone!
Went to the Westmoreland air show this weekend and it was so much fun! The airport itself is small but offers free parking during your travel!
Love the convenience of this airport however the Spirit staff are very rude and not helpful. You would think with such a small airport that they would be willing to be more helpful then a larger airport. However they have a HUGE lack of communication and they failed to leave out integral information as to what to do to get my luggage at my final destination. Leaving me with no clue as to where my baggage is. Previously they have closed the ticket counter almost an hour before the flight departed and made me purchase another ticket to get home as there are no hotels nearby and I would have been stranded at the airport. Most likeley will be the LAST time flying here unless another Airline will be flying in and out of this location.
The flight was good and tight. The parking at Arnold Palmer airport was tight also. We were told where to park by bus shutle guy, Dave. We saw no signs andwas not blocking traffic into this rats nest. When we got back we found a ticket saying we blocked traffic. Before I fly out of the Arnold Palmer airport I shall Walk to Fla. .If you need to raise revenue this way you are a RAT Bastard . Never again..COPS , and more cops and who will save us from Thug cops. Protect and serve , who do they realy serve? Rat bastards
My 66 yo mother recently retired school teacher flew home from this airport. person at check in demanded 10 dollars for a boarding pass we already printed out. not done at other airports if you have it printed. rude and aggressive front desk person. they strip searched and fondled my mother, who is TSA prechecked and was traveling with her passport. they also lost her luggage and said it was entirely her responsibility to find it. I will be pursuing this a little more then a google review.
