Nature at it's unadulterated best! The view is memorable. From up at the top, you can see 3 million trees.
Accessible from bike and carriage paths from the island interior or by climbing a ton of steps from the perimeter trail. The formation itself is iconic and beautiful. View of Lake Huron from the top is amazing. Looks like the Caribbean on some days.
Beautiful place to visit. I don't know why anyone would be negative about this nature stop. Absolutely beautiful from below and up the stairs!
Nice view, but the arch is not big or amazing. It's cool, but not crazy cool. Nice job building observation decks. Room for plenty of people.
This natural rock formation perched over the waters of the lake is close enough to town and especially Mission Point that the walk is well worth it for the views. On sunny summer days, the tranquil blue waters of the shore can be glimpsed through the eye of the arch making for beautiful pictures. The walk up is short but involves several stairs, so take it easy and enjoy the views on the way up. It’s also easy to get to via bike rental from town and a fairly quick ride out. Don’t miss this awesome formation when visiting.
I really do not understand why any one would rate this place less than 5 stars. It is beautiful, natural and relaxing place. If you do not like the nature, do not go there . The view from the Arch rock is mesmerizing that would keep you involved for hours. If you are there early in the morning or late in the evening, you can really enjoy the birds chirping and crickets.
Very nice view and worth the walk from downtown. This is a popular attraction and it can get busy or difficult to get a picture. Arrive early or later for the best photos.
One of the real nice spots I remember from my visit to Michigan over 30 years ago. Well worth the walk from the pier ;-)
If you are going to make the commitment to go around the island, this is the iconic spot for the photo. Don't miss it.
It's a rock, but it's pretty cool and definitely worth checking out. If you take the carriage ride, you will stop by here for a few minutes. As our carriage driver put it "There are tons of pictures of Arch Rock on the internet, but none with you in them!".
Take a few minutes and go see Arch Rock, you won't regret it. It was also a major reason why the park was granted state park status. See it from the top and then take a bicycle ride around the island to see it from the bottom.
I've been to the island a few times but never took the time to go. It's much closer than I thought. Made a few stops on the way like skull cave. Smooth paved trails one way some has stairs the other has a big hill to climb. Paved trials/roads kids enjoyed it as well. We enjoyed the walk both ways to it.
