They fixed my phone with no copay! Happy day. I’ve always had a good experience here. If you are claustrophobic or hate crowds stay away. This place is ALWAYS packed. I think they do a fine job for as crazy as it is there.
Arrived Monday AM just after opening and we were ignored by staff for over 20 minutes. Store was not busy. We were not looking for service on a product - we were interested in buying a new MacBook as a Christmas present. When we finally corned an associate to ask for help we were told that we would be put on a wait list and would not be able to talk to anyone for at least another 30 minutes. Plenty of employees standing around not working with customers. Eventually we left without being seen and will not be buying an Apple product. Question why Apple would make it so difficult to purchase product from their retail store.
I have gone to this location several times in the past years - driving well over an hour each way to go there. I've always been happy with the service but this most recent time I was extremely dissatisfied.
I made an appointment at the genius bar for 445 on a Sunday evening. In the appointment, you state what you are coming in for. In my case it was screen repair. I get there and get checked in. I sit there for almost 30 minutes waiting for a technician. When they finally come to discuss the problem with me, I'm told that I would have to leave my phone and come back tomorrow. that is not possible. I work in a hospital and do not have weekdays off. I told them this and asked if they could allow me to replace the phone (like I have done in the past). I was told this would cost twice as much. No thanks - I'll go to another location to have the screen replaced.
Now here is what I don't understand. Apple is one of the most technologic companies in the world. they know their staffing. They know what customers are coming in for. Why on earth would they schedule a repair appointment if they are unable to do the repair in that amount of time? Stop having appointments two hours before closing if you can't accommodate customers.
Apple and this location have made maintenance of their products a nightmare. In a means to streamline costumer experience and cut operation costs, Apple has depersonalized and complicated consumer relations for worse. I love Apple products but i wonder how much longer I will use them after the extreme inconvenience associated with maintenance/repair. For example, It took two people and a 15 minute call for very simple information such as if a laptop part was in stock. This was after they insisted to get me in the store for what would have been for them to tell me the same thing and then require my laptop stay on site for 3-5 days for a battery replacement.
Ridiculous! I called on Sunday to discuss the battery in my iPod because it wasn't keeping a charge. Instead of being told that they couldn't do anything, they scheduled appointment for me only to be told that it would be $79 and I have to ship it. They don't replace the battery they replace unit. You could have saved me the trip as I will probably buy an used rather than a brand brand new one for $199 because just swapping it out for the SAME unit (5th generation)I is dumb.Absolutely no consideration for me, my time and my life at all. They could have saved me the cost of finding a sitter for the hour.
Not only did I have to wait 2 hours to for a appointment, when I finally did get "help" she was bouncing around between 10 different people helping them. What exactly is the point of a appointment then? I was completely ignored for 2 hours while there were 20+ workers in the store just standing around talking to one another when I clearly looked like someone who would use some assistance. Not 1 person offered me any help. Finally the girl came back and said my phone needed to be re-set because of the problems I was experiencing. She assured me everything was backed up on my iCloud.. once my phone was re-set I lost everything. All 7,000 of my pictures, contacts, notes, events. Instead of helping me work through this problem she caused she gets me on the phone with someone (which I could of done from home and never wasted a entire Sunday) I went there for 1 on 1 personal help. Once she gets me on the phone she once again leaves and the lady on the phone is asking me questions I have no idea the answer to, she asks me to please get a representative to help me or she could speak to them instead. Absolutely no one took the phone, offered to help me, I felt completely invisible. I almost felt bullied. Previously she gave me a laptop to connect my phone to, one of the employees comes up and disconnects my phone and takes the laptop without even asking me when I was in the middle of trying to sync. I left the store without any of my information back and I called the district manager when I got home and the most they could do for me was $200 in apple credit. As if that is going to bring back all of my memories. I have never been treated so poorly in my life anywhere. That store should be ashamed of themselves. I would not send my worst enemy in there. I hope they really evaluate their methods as far as custome care. If someone has a appointment that person deserves their full attention until the problem is solved. I will never buy another apple product in my life.
My wife had a problem with her iPhone. It needed to be replaced, of course she had insurance. After much frustration with online services, we decided to come to the Apple Store. And there we found the help we needed. Great people. We were the last person on the list and the help stayed until the store closed and we were the last ones to leave at 10m. Problem solved, new phone. My wife was happy. Simply the Best. Highly recommend.
Took many classes starting with iMac and now iPhone. Never been disappointed! Knowledgeable mentors willing to change direction if the "students" need a change. Good stuff and FREE! I continue to take classes. Always something new comes my way
Was concerned after reading reviews. Decided to give it a try after a failed third party attempt to fix my wife's 6s plus screen. Arrived when they opened, they signed me up for Genius Bar, told me 30 minutesit was really about 10 minutes. The phone was repaired in the estimated timeframe for the exact cost of the quote. Staff was helpful, understanding and knowledgeable. I would recommend going early because when I returned to pick it up in the afternoon, the place was slammed.
Walked in with the thought that we would be walking out with a new apple watch and not a single employee greeted us or even asked us if we needed help while we stood at the watches waiting for service. There were 4 employees standing at the same table as us and not even one acknowledged my fiance or I. We decided to leave after waiting around 15 minutes deciding that they did not deserve our service.
Every time I have visited this Apple store I always had a good experience. This past Wednesday was my third time with a damaged phone. I ended up making it to the mall way earlier than I intended because I thought I-283 traffic was going to be backed up but, it wasn't. I explained to the girl who checked me in that I had a reservation at 6:10PM but, I ended up getting to the mall earlier than expected. She said she would hate to send me out in the mall without a phone and she had me have a seat and no more than 10 minutes later someone was helping me. So, I am very impressed with the willingness to help me earlier even though my appointment was much later.
Does anyone else feel as if their old dated devices no longer function as a result of updates?
I was promptly helped by someone at the genius bar for my 4:00 appointment, all employees were very helpful and nice. However, when I came to pick up my phone after a battery replacement an hour later the phone I got back had a cracked screen protector and they didn't even say anything to me about it. I am highly upset about this and expected better out of the apple techs who make phone repairs. Kinda getting sick of the bogus apple system..
I cannot overstate how ridiculous Apple's current setup is. I own an iPhone 6 and paid for it in cash. The battery needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, the Lancaster store is the closest store to me. The first time I called, I was scheduled with an appointment with this store to replace my battery. I drove the 50 minutes, only to arrive to check in and find that the store didn't even have the battery. I was so frustrated that I told the store not even to order the battery. Several days latter, I was called by the store and told that the battery had been ordered, despite my request as above.
1) Problem number one. Apple's call center is decentralized and has no idea what is going on in its local stores. The person scheduling me has no idea WHAT the inventory of the local store is. Attempting to call the local store is minimally effective at best, often times the staff doesn't even respond to the phone call.
2) Attempting to address any grievance with apple is even more frustrating. Visiting Apple's website does not reveal any specific way to address a grievance with a local store, beyond giving a customer the local store's number.
Apple is not what it once was. It is sitting on large reserves of cash and you are just a number! Time to SWITCH TO ANDROID.
