Definitely a locals place. Goes with the same theme at most places around here where you can write all over the walls. Doesn't appeal to me at all. I guess it's a thing in this area. Food was okay, nothing stood out making us want to come back. Beer was cold, service was good.
I thought this would be a fun place to eat on a weekend out to the beach. The service was less than adequate. It took a long time to get seated, or for even someone to greet me as several waitresses walked in and out past me.
Then I was seated finally, which was good. After at least 10 minutes someone finally came and took our drink orders. I think we were seated and forgotten about. Well, more time went by, and finally we got our drinks. It was a bit disconcerting, but I decided maybe our luck will change and the food will be great. We put our orders in, then when our appetizer finally came out it was the wrong plate. Luckily the waitress was able to take it off our bill.
The food did come out at an acceptable pace after our appetizer, but it was not to die for which did not make up for the long, long wait we endured. We thought coming on a weekend would mean they had decent staff working, but that was not so this day. Although we'd definitely go back to the area, we will not plan on coming back to the restaurant.
My family loves this place. The food is always delicious and NOLA authentic. Cold beer, great wait staff, friendliest owner around by far. Its a little "grungy" but that's the style of the place and creates a laid back atmosphere. Kid friendly too
An interesting place. A better value than beach front places while being right across the street. All the decor and arrangement of the seating makes the place feel tight inside.
Limited but decent priced beers.
We went on an afternoon so there was not many patrons at the time, yet the waiter had trouble getting it together. It being the drink order (he left the tap running after filling the pitcher), and the food order (came back to the table after taking the order to verify). Despite the wonky staff, the food arrived and was good.
Very laid back atmosphere with really friendly crew. The food was really good. Totally enjoyed our visit there.
I only give it 4 stars because the steak. Don't order the steak. It is to thin to order it and for the cooks to get it right. The fish on the other hand AMAZING. I had the Ken's special and it was the best dish I have had in a very long time. My wife had the Mahi Mahi sandwich and she loved it. Back to the steak my daughter ordered it med rare came out well. Reordered came out med well. Too thin. Other than that. I will be back just because of the fish. Service was also really good even though they were busy. If we wouldn't have ordered the steak we would have given it a 4.5.l ml
Awesome location. Decent Seafood. Limited Parking. Surprisingly good music playing. But two out of three waitresses working the outside deck on July 7th, 2017 were just not pleasant people. My server, Mindy, wasn't necessarily rudebut her personality seemed to be that of someone who's dog was hit by a car earlier in the day. I mean, I get itdealing with tourists all day all summer could drive anybody crazy. But as a local, I was hoping for a little happier of an experience.
Okay we just spent a week in Destin. Tried Kenny D's the first day. Loved it. Oysters were great. Tried some more places. However, ended up eating 5 out of 7 days at Kenny D's. Food was fabulous and so was the service. AKA Tyler. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
On old 98. They have the NFL ticket. Great choice of drinks. Sort of a dive that would pass if not looking for it. Decent craft brews. About 3, the rest are your typical buds and millers. Food smelled really good but had to pass. Going back next week to try food.
Great service. Friendly servers. Fabulous recommendations. Oysters on the half shell and the Double Shucked Oysters are to die fo (oysters Rockefeller, Garlic parmesan).
We held an event here and they knocked it out of the park!! Great food and awesome staff!
Best place! Drinks food and service are wonderful. We may come to Destin just to eat at Kenny D's. Jenny is the best waitress and Kenny himself will always stop and say hello! You must eat the fried pickles!
Service prompt and good. Beer cold. Oysters delicious. Beer cold.
