I absolutely love this place. This is probably the best record store in Southern California. Parking is a little difficult, but there is a small lot behind the building and a underground parking garage. If you are a active consumer of media Amoeba is a must visit place for you.

Amoeba Music is a staple of iconic Hollywood. It's always loud and boisterous in here, but that is part of its charm. It is one of the last places you can go to find a decent music selection that isn't online. And they often feature live performances making this a destination spot. It is very touristy. Worth checking out certainly at least once.

Beautiful place! We found DVDs that can't even be found online! I am amazed at the variety. I splurged with my husband. Almost bought the entire cassette collection. I love the dusty boxes under the actual items, I found these amazing audio books for a $1. I'll be shopping here every month to allow time for new cassettes and audio books.

I went here last week and it was my first time there and I loved it so much! The prices are amazing and they have the biggest variety of music related stuff for cheap that I've ever seen. Highly recommend visiting here. You may run into someone you admire, such as a celeb 😉👌

love love love this location. i have come here multiple times over the years for everything from buying a record to a CD an album signing and even small scale performances. this is the record store you want to go to when you're in Los Angeles. a must visit when in Hollywood.

One of the most iconic shops around and with good reason. It has something for everyone and is enormous! Love how much love there truly is for music and it's history as evidenced by the unique way the store is designed. You don't just come here for music you come here for an experienc!

This is how I always Empire Records would be. Amoeba has everything music related you could possibly want. It's the only record store I've ever seen that was so bustling on a weekday afternoon. They're keeping the record store dream alive! Damn the man, support your independent record stores!

I've been a huge fan of the LA location for a while now. I'm about two hours drive from them but obviously I'm in the area often enough with shows and such. Around 2006/7/or 8 I saw a live show there, after that I was hooked. It was a very popular band doing a very small show & I had wonderful experience. I loved Amoeba's after that. They really do cater to a music-oriented crowd. Since then it's been a long awaited revisit for me, so I decided to buy a logo-tshirt from their online store. With my luck I ended up buying the wrong color shirt. Realizing my error I emailed the customer service provided on the website & notified them of my error & my intentions. Within an hour or two they had emailed back adjusting my order & here I am today boasting on my personal media's of my kick ass t-shirt. Customer service is an A++ !! Let's face it, we don't get that kinda easy-fix, low-maintenance kind of treatment when dealing with Amazon. Trust me on that!

One of my favorite places in LA, where real music still lives on. Every time I go I can't spend less that 100 bucks, and I leave with tons of cool music, videos, reading material and so. The place maintains the rock n roll, counterculture charm. The video section in the 1st floor reminds me some joints I used to go to in the 90s and has a large selection of rare movies (you can even buy VHS!). Cashiers are always super nice.

A place to buy and sell recorded music. They have collectors' items (rare vinyl) and the usual music store accessories. I brought several bankers boxes of vinyl and CDs to sell. I think they gave me a fair price. The decor is crazy colorful and it is just a fun store to browse and hang out. I would return to either buy or sell merchandise.

Iconic music store selling new and used records, CDs, cassettes for all kinds of music. Great selection of all types of rock and you will see people there spending hours perusing what they have in every aisle. They have an upstairs section devoted to movies and television and posters but they are mostly known for their expansive music collection. They hardly have sales in regards to music but they often have bands perform and do signings which is great but it's always during weekdays at 6pm which I find a little on the earlier end.

THANK YOU AMOEBA for having a punk rock section in the back. I finally got my star f****** hipsters album and for a really good price! Keeping music alive. Definitely stop in for a good time even if you're not buying anything! They also carry patches for jackets.

One of the best record shops in CA .

Its small, but carries an incredible selection of classic rock, jazz and soul records. I've been to a lot of places around CA , big and small, Amoeba, Vacation, High Fidelity, Rock away. Amoeba Music tops them all. The prices are very reasonable and its a great place to hang out with other record lovers.

This is what all record stores should be like. Not the overpriced, underwhelming shops circulating CA , but a genuine place with great variety and decent prices. Bravo guys.

one of the last great record stores in all of Los Angeles this place is a music/movie paradise! to all of the vinyl junkies out there this is your happy place! also did you know that you can even buy tickets to local concerts at any cash register?
HINT: you will need to BLOCK OFF about an hour or 2 or 5 (depending on your thirst for hunting down your favorite record or movie) because this place is a welcomed commitment
