Back in February of 1987 I had the worst meal ever in a Dutch Pantry in Williamstown, WV. That is the worst meal until today when I had lunch at The Amish Door. I ordered turkey breast and dressing, rice pilaf, and broccoli. The turkey breast was not the expected slice of fresh turkey, but a pile of turkey that looked a lot more like pulled pork. It was dry and tasteless. The dressing tasted like it came from a box and it was lukewarm. The pilaf was a pile of mush and the broccoli was microwaved frozen stumps of tough strands.
All in all, I consider myself a lucky diner having only had inedible restaurant meals every thirty years, but, I would warn any future customers of The Amish Door to stick with the buffet which probably has warmer and possibly fresher food.response / report this review -

Gravy, mashed potatoes and fried chicken were awesome. The rest was standard buffet fair. Bread is very good too.

This is the best Amish restaurant in my opinion. Their broasted chicken beats them all. Everything is good. I get the buffet everytime and it is always fresh. They are usually pretty busy with a long line to get in but it's worth the wait. Buffet has two kinds of chicken, tender beef, ham, meatballs, mashed potatoes, noodles, mac n cheese, soup, veggies, salad and desserts. The best bread pudding too! Plus there is a gift shop above restaurant and some out front in a different building. Enjoy..

My hubby & I ALWAYS have a pleasant dining experience every time we come here. The food is scrumptous and the servers are VERY friendly!! We also LOVE listening to the music that the young Gentleman plays.that makes it even more SPECIAL!!! He is very talented and does a GREAT job!!! :-). We would highly recommend them to everyone!!!!

Friendly, spacious, and fairly decent food. A great place for tourists. I had the buffet and was well satisfied by healthy yet salty options. Not a good place for low salt diets but that's true for almost every restaurant.

This is an awesome place that no one should miss as they travel through the Amish country! Wonderful food! Great people who will do their best to make you comfortable and help you make the most of your experience in this beautiful Amish country!

Nice restaurant, good service, buffet lots of options & some Amish inspired. Delicious dinner rolls. We eat there quite often, but last time there this summer, so many flies made for a not pleasant meal.

This is one of the finest Amish restaurants I've encountered. Buffett always has a great variety at a fine price. Ordering off the menu available and reasonable.

Best broasted chicken I've ever had. Very tasty and juicy. Plenty of different options in the salad bar. Also has a store upstairs and a bakery in the back.
