I want to say that the staff is amazing. Talk about going above and beyond for the happiness of their costomers! I am an Alabama fan and could not get the station it was on, on the TV in my room. This gentleman brought me two different TV'S until I could watch the game. I was amazed at his willingness to make me happy. I also have a dog and he was so accommodating with allowing us to check in a bit early and unlike other places did not make me feel bad about bringing the dog. I will always use this place from now on. Above and beyond service is hard to find! Thank you America's Best!

Rooms listed on internet but when you go to desk none at that price. Rooms smelly, bed covers wrinkled, carpet on floors wavy with stains, no shampoo or soap in shower phone in room didn’t work. Outdated TV. No light on stairway. Trash cans outside nasty. Felt nasty even after showering. No other hotel choice because of October fest. Worst experience ever, wont happen again. Plus price was outrageous for these type of accommodations. And they were worried we would smoke or have a pet in room. Right

There was a chicken wing bone by the nightstand and a splotch of something on the curtain. It didnt smell bed and the beds are comfy enough. Oh and the complimentary soap, that was in dispensers on the wall, were all empty. Water pressure is good though.

First lets start with the room smelled like piss. I guess if you have a dog then you are obligated to have a piss smelling room. All of the lights did not work which caused the room to be dark as well. The carpet is not installed properly. I ended up cutting my foot with a staple due to it. No body wash in shower dispenser. One of the beds had yellow stains in which i believe to be previous animal pee on it. You can't even use the microwave at the same time as the mini fridge. You would have to sacrifice either the television or the fridge to do so. To end this horrible experience the cable randomly went out. I have stayed at plenty hotels in Helen and I will never go back to this place ever again.

The photos on the website make this place look great but they are deceiving. I checking in thinking it must be a decent place and oh boy I was so wrong. When I walked into the room it smelled terrible, there were flies in the room and some kind of nasty dark stain on the wall, my first thought was is that blood? The room smelled like it was doused in Pine Sol to cover the stench of the room. The bathroom was disgusting. I wouldn't bathe my dog in a tub like that! I turned around and went straight to the desk to get a refund. There is no way I way I would have stayed there. I would have slept in my car before I got into that bed. I even felt nasty just by walking in that room and turning around and walking right out. I wish I could give this place a 0 in stars!!!!

They lost or cancelled the reservation before we had even arrived for check-in time(3pm) and were absolutely no help in trying to get the issue resolved. Other staff person booked us in under the rate we reserved thankfully, but the whole time the young lady was harping on the fact that they were almost out of rooms and that they were almost 200$ when our booking was for just over 100$.
Only issue was with the young lady who told us the reservation wasn't in the system, she kept trying to get us to call the place we booked it under to send her confirmation when we booked through the hotel's website.
The older gentleman that booked us in was very helpful!
Otherwise the stay was fine, good location for walking to all the sites and stores.response / report this review -

Horrible customer service, dirty smelly rooms, and nasty breakfast. On our drive from home to the hotel, I received a call from the hotel stating there was no credit card on file for my reservation, but I was required to provide a CC when I booked the room online several days before. Once we arrived at the motel, the desk clerk claimed he could not find a reservation in the system for me. After I showed him the confirmation number and reminded him he had just called me about my credit card. He instantly found the reservation. Upon entering the room, there was no air conditioning on, so the room was almost 90 degrees and smelled horrible! The family was exhausted from our drive, so we decided to deal with the smell and get some rest. When we got up the next morning I found I had been sleeping on urine stained sheets, there were cigarette ashes on the bathroom floor, and when I closed the shower curtain, dirty wash cloths were hanging on the curtain rod. I asked my husband to grab us all a bite to eat from the warm continental breakfast they advertised. When our daughter tried to eat her biscuit, it completely crumbled from being so dry. The gravy was just as bad as her spoon broke trying to stir it. We immediately packed up our things and left and will never return to this dump!

The hotel manager was wonderful! Always started a convo with us every time we walked in, recommended many places to go and have fun. We stayed in the jacuzzi suite, WHICH WAS GREAT. The hotel is a little hole in the wall, average rooms, but if you need a cheap place just to lay your head at night I recommend this place. If we don't stay in cabins we will stay here.

Hotel manager was very rude, inappropriate, and unprofessional. My boyfriend went down to get breakfast, with a room full of people, the manager started accusing us of having a party in our room. It was only my boyfriend and I all night. He said there was very loud noise and banging coming from our room all night. I heard the banging all night coming from elsewhere, myself. He accused us of tearing up our room. He's eating his words now, since our room was in almost tip top condition when we left. He also accused us of knocking fire extinguishers off the walls of the hotel, which we did not. I'm very upset with the staff of this location! We were completely innocent in these matters. You do not treat paying customers this way, especially in front of other paying customers!

The staff was great. Very special thanks to Tonya she was professional and Friendly. All needs were meet in a timely Manor and her knowledge of the town helped tremendously. I had a great time thank you America's best of Helen, GA.

Stayed here for Oktoberfest, because it was the only thing available. The bed didn't have a fitted sheet around the mattress, just a sheet that didn't fit so anytime you moved around the sheet would show the mattress. Someone flushed soap down the toilet so that barely worked, there was a big iron burn in the carpet, and when our AC didn't work, the front desk asked if we wanted a fan instead of maintenance. They finally came and "cleaned" the dirty ass AC so it could work. It is a 2 star hotel. So that's the highest this little spot is going to get
