We love Alla Famiglia for a special occasion, and we always go hungry! We typically share the meatball appetizer, which is amazing. My mom gets a veal chop, and I always get the veal medallions with pine nuts, mozzarella, lump crab meat, and arugula. So delicious! My husband had a bison special this time which also was really great. The salad and pasta served family style are also always really great. This is one of our favorite restaurants!
Delicious food, exceptional staff, beautiful facility. I will go back and recommend it to all my friends and family.
Amazing Italian food served in the traditional style. I haven't had food like this since I came back from Italy. Make reservations and come hungry with plenty of time to enjoy your meal. We can't wait to go back! Drinks and wine list are also very good!
Everything about this place is great. Wait staff, manager, ambiance, and of course the chef. I even got a great book recommendation. I'm an Italian from an Italian town and Alla Famiglia rivals mi famiglias food. Loved it hopebto come back soon.
Came from Colorado for vacation, and thought this would be a great place to check out. I can safely say this is the best Italian food I have ever eaten. The service was incredible, and the food was amazing. Wish we could have had desert but we were entirely too full to even try. 10/10 would come again.
BEST Italian restaurant I have ever been to. Don't miss it if you are in Pittsburgh! Call ahead for a reservation if you can or go early. You won't regret it.
SO sad . Service upstairs worst ever. Not at all professional or timely. Would never be tolerated at sister restaurant Arrlechino. Never had water refilled. Bread over toasted . Unable to eat. Better than neighbor table who reminded server, he forgot bread multiple times. Slow night. Manager greeted all . Clueless about what was going on. Son's birthday
dinner, really should be refunded whole dinner. Many visits at this and sister restaurant. What is going on ????
Management, please feel free to contact me.
This was our first visit but the restaurant was highly recommended. We arrived a bit early and were seated right away. Our waiter reviews the menu and explained how the meal would be presented in courses. Specials were presented by another party. Everything was just so pleasing, from the staff to the food. The only negative was that we couldn't squeeze dessert into our full stomachs. We will be back. Do yourself a favor and have an unforgettable experience at Alla Famiglia.
Wow! What a meal. We received a gift card to this restaurant for our wedding. It took a while to get a reservation so plan in advance. In a sketchy neighborhood, but its on the main street so plan to use their valet parking. Well worth the $6. Excellent friendly service. The food here is top notch, bring your appetite. We started with the delicious breads that came with many dips and spreads. I was a big fan of the goat cheese. For an appetizer we went with the meatball. The meatball itself was about the size of a softball and very delicious. The sauce on the appetizer was among the best Ive ever tasted, right up there with the homemade sauces my Italian grandmother used to make. For the main course my wife had the mahi mahi which she found to be delicious and I went with their signature veal chop. The style I chose for the veal chop was the sausage and peppers and the sausage was also amazing. The chop itself was to die for and looked like something right out of the Flintstones. Very tender and cooked exactly how I wanted it. For dessert we asked for the cheesecake but got tiramisu instead, but this mistake turned out to be a good one because the tiramisu was amazing. It is a non traditional style tiramisu with shaved almonds. Very delicious. Overall this was a fantastic dinner out for my wife and I and a very appreciated wedding gift. The total bill was quite pricey including the wine we had but if you want a special night out you will not be disappointed with Alla Famiglia!
Every time we go they make us feel like family, and that's just an aside to arguably the best meal in the city.
The best Italian food I've ever had. Diablo sauce on the mussels is an absolute masterpiece. Very friendly staff and even better food. Pricey but worth every penny.
Very good, cozy Italian cuisine restaurant. A little on the pricey side, but the food was excellent asking with the portions.
Expensive, but worth every penny! Or meals were huge, and the steak was the best I've ever tasted. Every detail was perfect, the waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive. Highly recommended! Get reservations.
