I just won't be back. I had the chopped chicken salad and iced tea. $18.95 is just too much. I've been in the restaurant business for years and the food cost is $3.00 at most. The " Greek" dressing Lawrys Italian mix. I've used it since 1985. I know new minimum wages for restaurateurs has made the need to raise pricesbut come on be reasonable not greedy.

This was our first visit to this cafe as part of our effort to support local businesses.It's way bigger inside than it looks from the street and is furnished with extremely formal decor throughout.almost overwhelmimg.There were about 5 people sitting at different tables outside but not a soul inside when we chose to have lunch at about 1.30pm on Friday.There must be seating for at least 100 diners inside and we were all alone.The blonde female server who came out to take our order didn't seem overly happy that we had decided to dine there for the first time.She seemed very irritated when I asked her to explain what ingredients came with the meals we were thinking of ordering.We ordered a half tzatzikii appetizer followed by a chicken shawarma and a beef kebab.Our happy server brought our meals out after about 15 minutes..Each of our meals came with a half a plate of salad which made the serving look huge.My wife thought her chicken shawarma was not bad and the beef inside my kebab was very tender.Apart from that I thought the kebab was very bland.The reason we ordered the tzatziki was to add to our meals but it too was pretty tasteless.My wife makes far better at home.As for the salad,all I see was yellow chunks of lettuce and it didn't taste freshly made.With the tip we shelled out $25 so it was poor value for money.I always wondered why for the past 3 years when we pass this cafe it always looks empty.because it is.I'm pretty certain we won't be back.It was lucky to get 3 stars and we don't go to 3 star places.

Delicious. Great Baba Ganoush. Grilled chicken awesome. I dipped in Baba Ganoush. Garlic Dip out of this world! Chicken kabobjust wow. Service spectacular! We will be back and bring our family and friends.

Love the chicken shawarma and tabouli. This Uptown location is my favorite for it's atmosphere. Service is always friendly and somewhat relaxed.

New favorite in San Diego. Really great food, and great service too. We got the veggie mezze (fattoush, falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, tabbouleh, dolmas, mixed pickles) with some spinach pies. Literally all of it was delicious. Hummus maybe could use more flavor but it was still good and everything else was outstanding and so fresh (no canned dolmas here). Also there is some South Asian influence on the menu which is cool

My favorite middle eastern restaurant! The service is excellent and the food delicious. Received my food within 5 minutes, no long waiting. The waiter was professional and courteous. My regular is the falafel salad plate. The falafel is cooked to perfection and the tehina and humus pairs deliciously. Clean and family oriented atmosphere. Will definitely be coming again In the near future!!

Amazing French toast. Really liked that it is parsed into 3 pieces so it was easy to save.
