Looked like a bomb went off in thereempty spots everywhere with pillows and things piled upwhat a mess! Roamed around ignored by the staff. I have loved this storeabout 3/4 of my home is Alabama Furniture market. So disappointing.
I would not recommend anyone purchasing from Alabama Furniture Market. We spend $1,2000 on a couch in December of 2018 AND paid money for the extended warranty. By December of 2019 the couch began losing its shape. The foam in both recliners drooped to the floor and our 1 year old couch looked to be 10 years old. I contacted Alabama Furniture Market and they sent another piece of foam and instructed us on how to replace the old piece. While we did this, it was weeks later that the new foam did the same thing. Alabama Furniture Market sent someone to our home to see what they could do. The solution was that they brought batting and re-stuffed the cushions. They left batting with us telling us just to keep re-stuffing. Long story short, no one will do anything for us now saying that the manufacture's warranty has expired, even though we reported this prior to the warranty expiring, and in good faith, continued to work with them on correcting the issue. We also bought the extended warranty so we went that route. When the extended warranty was sold to us they verbally tell you that they will make good with any issues of the couch. Of course, the extended warranty will not cover anything so we may as well have thrown our money out the window. I try to support local businesses but I will never buy anything from this place again AND I would recommend you reconsidering. They don't stand behind what they say or what they sell!
They had no control over the delays in 2020 due to COVID, but they did have control over updating there customers with statuses who had backorders. They failed and chose not to update anyone, zero calls over 4+ months. The prices are good, the quality is low due to the price being low. You get what you pay for, and I'm OK with that. My 2nd time giving them my business and it'll be the last. Sincerely, Coach
I was in store for about 20 minutes and no one even acknowledged my presence. Store not very organized. Past experience very good. Still enjoying furniture I purchased 3 years ago.
This is a great store, and I always start here when looking for a piece of furniture. They have a wide selection and great prices. I usually choose the pick up option to get the discount. However, the pick process needs some work. We waited in line like the sign said to do, but several others jumped in front of us. No one ever came out to check our name or to tell is to get in a dock station. Finally after waiting 40 minutes I got out and flagged a dock worker. He told us to back in, then come to find out a stuff wasn't ready. If they had come out to check our name to start with the process would have alot smoother. Other than than that I would highly recommend this store.
The staff was very helpful. They helped us locate a bedroom from just a picture.
I was just at this store for 20 min with my wife. Not a single employee spoke to us the entire time we were there even though we were passed multiple times. I don't know if we were treated this way because we are LGBTQ or because my wife is a black woman. Either way, it was absolutely ridiculous. This is customer service 101, and they failed miserably.
They have a good selection of furniture in store, and it is a very large store. The staff is friendly and helpful but not pushy in any way. I would much rather do business here than with places like Rooms To Go.
I buy most all furniture there. Same owner as dogtown.
I was just in calera with a borrowed truck.
They were our of the mattress we came for. So they would bring it to me for tax amd shipping. Probably an extra 75 because they didn't have it.
My sister spent 10000 at dogtown.
My parents spent thousands at Fort Payne.i have clients that know the founder of the Ford Payne store.
I have never seen this treatment there. Our bed. kitchen, dinner table, sofas, side tables, coffee tables, my office chair. My parents were having me having me snap pic of a new dinner table for them. Being unreasonable can really hurt.
Was the only place I ever bought any furniture the whole house is furnished with it
One of the best furniture stores in Alabama..ask for Chris Akins. He knows everything in there and great at helping you find what you need at the best prices anywhere..even internet
Very nice store, love all the furniture available. Very reasonable prices in my opinion coming from Texas. Will definitely be buying some items here in the future.
As I don't have any gripes with this place, but haven't made any purchases as of yet, they get 3 stars for now.
This place looks more like a warehouse as far as furniture stores go from the outside, however I was actually very surprised to walk in and see that it has more of a "real" furniture store feel. The layout of the store is separated by room, and they sell everything from massive entertainment stand furniture, down to picture frames and runners for dining room tables. This really is a lovely store. A lot of the furniture seems to have somewhat of a trendy, current feel (distressed woods, burlap-py stuff, faded pastels etc) however, by no means does this encompass the entire store. I also like the pricing on everything in the store meaning they'll display market value vs whatever price you'd pay for the same piece elsewhere supposedly. Not sure how accurate, but at least it makes you feel as if you're getting a deal right?
Wasn't really sure how you would go about making a purchase had we attempted to do so. It's not a pressure sales environment, thus nobody approached us at any time while browsing however, this also means it wasn't the best customer service environment , thus nobody approached us at any time while browsing. Not even a hello, welcome or if you need anything, my name is____ let me know. There was what appeared to be a main purchasing/ordering desk perhaps, and also an island with some sales reps behind that desk as well. There does seem to be something at most price points for anybody but also be sure to check out the clearance room in the back right corner.
All in all, decent store for the drive out to Calera. Nothing bad, nothing fantabulous!
Not only do they have an amazing selection of furniture, but the sales associates and the owner are amazing.
My family and I not to long ago moved across country and have faced some issues, knowing what we wanted walking to the store the selection was easy but getting it to the house same day was they issue. Once Chris, the owner, stopped and asked us if we doing okay? My husband said jokingly "Know anyone with a truck who wants to make a quick 50 bucks?" Chris quickly returned with "You can borrow my work truck."
In amazement we accepted the offer so our kids could have a place to finally sit. Simply amazing they are! We will be customers for life.
Furniture's pretty comfortable too! :D
This store had a huge selection of well known brands of bedrooms, dining & living room suites for moderate prices. They had many cute knick knacks as well. There wasn't much variation in style though. Mostly shabby chic.
Spent 35 minutes or more in the store. At no time did anyone greet me, ask if I needed help, or assisted me. I even stood next to the bed I wanted to purchase for over 10 minutes still no response. An employee helped another customer but never offered any assistance. Once the other customer left, the employee never returned to assist me. I noted the bed and placed an order with another furniture store for the same item. All the while 6 employees were sitting at the desk on their phones. Very disappointed because I have visited and supported this store for years.
I absolutely love this place! The furniture is amazing I actually bought my son a matress and junior loft bed from here and it is the only bed out of the 4 I have bought him since birth he will sleep in!
I recently found this place and I was so happy I did. My husband and I bought a bed from there on Saturday the lady who helped us was so sweet and helpful and the prices are not high and it's good furniture. I think we've found our new furniture store!
Alabama Furniture Market is my go-to store for furniture in all price ranges. I have purchased inexpensive dining chairs, high-end bedrooms, a custom sofa, several custom chairs, and 6 mattress sets, and never had a problem or complaint. Their delivery charges to Birmingham and even to Jasper are reasonable and straight forward as are their prices. If you compare, you will find that they offer a nice discount on the same pieces you can purchase elsewhere.
love love their furniture! wide selection and great customer service
Pros: Great & abundant selection of merchandise. Friendly associates. Upgrade options (hand pick fabric if need be). High quality products.
Neutrals: Firm with pricing.
Cons: No terms and conditions of sale (to protect both parties). Delivery times can be long on custom orders.
*If placing a custom order, I would suggest you have them verify stock of the product (couch, chair, etc) and verify stock of the fabric. 1 or the other can be out of stock and on back order and that can delay delivery further out than usual.
Great staff! Very helpful and knowledgeable.
All of the sales associates were helpful. The store has a nice layout with plenty of furniture high and low end available. Also the prices were extremely discounted when compared to buying from the brands themselves.
Very reasonably priced, and a wide variety of home furnishings! Great experience and we will definitely be back!
