We took our 9 and 12 year old kids here to climb for the day. The adults got a free class on how to belay, then we were off climbing for the next 3 hours. There are picnic tables that you can take a break at and have some snacks while you are resting. They sell some prepackaged snacks and have cool stickers as well.
Really the only REAL place to go climbing in the Orlando area but nonetheless a good gym. Fairly clean with a good mix of grades both in the lead cave and top roping. Watch out for boulder competitions where the gym is very much reduced for a week or two ahead. Doesn't hurt that it's next door to a nice brewery ;)
Very good place and environment. Good vide, very helpful staff, and quick training for newbies (on most days). There are easy routes and more challenging ones. It's always better to come with at least one other person if top roping. They also have many children activities (summer camps, birthday parties, etc). They also have yoga classes.
This a nice place to climb and has a great yoga class on Wednesdays! All the staff are very kind and helpful. As far as climbing gyms go I'd say it's medium sized; plenty of top rope, a fair amount of boulding, and a decent sized lead climbing section towards the back. Routes are changed every couple months it seems, though not too drastically. Good variation in difficulty. Memberships come with a free guest pass monthly!
Friendly staff and very clean facility. They are constantly changing the routes so it stays fresh. Seasonal events also keep this place a fun and rewarding activity to partake with friends or solo.
Stopped by here on my way out of Orlando airport for a workout. Loved the atmosphere and routes. Didn't do any bouldering, just top rope. Its a cool little gym with a great vibe and thoughtful, challenging, instructive climbing. Props to the route setters! The staff seemed knowledgeable and safety oriented. I really like the de-emphasis of route grade! I'll definitely stop by again if i ever have the chance!
Great, friendly staff. With a wonderful environment. Walls for beginners to pros. And they set up the routes differently every week or so!
The bouldering:
Whoever made the paths have no idea what a good bouldering path should look like. They're poorly constructed and like every hold in the building they're extraordinarily rough but slippery at the same time. I've been climbing for a year and this place shreds my hands but I can't do a v4 because of the holds. Also most paths are only about 10 feet so it's rather boring.
They also have permanent holds on the sides of the walls, which is absurdly lazy. So are the random brown holds on one wall so it's a free for all for you on a single path. I don't understand the point of even having that wall
Overall layout:
If you want to sit and talk with your pals between paths, good luck. There is no where to sit safely unless you want to sit about 30 feet away or on the benches that are too far away. The employees don't seem to care about safety in that regard. There isn't enough room for people to boulder and belay and watch in some areas, which is a huge liability.
The floor where you climb is not meant for slipping and falling, which limits what you can practice. If you slip and fall from a weird position or tall height, it isn't going to feel good at all. It's padded but not nearly enough.
Gear:
The rental shoes are terrible, they have absolutely no grip so even if you have a strong core, you can't use your feet to stay on the wall. Also they do not have chalk bags for rental so a lot of grips are greasy from sweat due to the lack of chalk
Pricing:
You go thinking that it's $5.50 for belaying and $10 for bouldering. The bouldering holds true, and you have to pay for shoes. The belaying on the other hand is literally so you can stand there and hold the rope for someone. Who pays just for That? If you want to climbing top rope, for you and someone else it will be almost $50
Sanitation:
They let you were your climbing shoes into the bathroom. That's absolutely disgusting. Do you want to climb on the bathroom floor?
I took my home gym for granted until I came here. None of the bouldering paths are worth my time, which is what I mainly do and I am not paying an absurd amount for terrible gear to try and belay. The employees don't seem to care about safety or sanitation.
came here a few months ago. the staff was incredibly friendly but if you're looking for some good bouldering problems this place is probably not the best. they all overlapped and it was difficult to complete a problem when seven other climbers wanted to boulder too.
Whether you are a novice climber or already acquired great climbing skill. Aiguille is the place to go. Great friendly atmosphere. Sound level is very nice and choice of climbs will get you thinking hard. Enjoy this location on your own or with a group. Perfect birthday party idea. You might even get to climb free on your birthday. Staff is very attentive. Food and drink options on-site. Enjoy !
I've been climbing here for 5 years and I absolutely love it. The staff is super friendly and it is a huge place! Would suggest it to anyone!
Absolutely love this place. The staff is wonderful and incredibly helpful. For being the only rock climbing gym in Central Florida, they do a fantastic job making it suitable for new and more advanced climbers.
A great way to have a new experience! They teach you the ropes (lol) and set you free. There's markers on each wall so if you're a beginner don't worry, they have paths marked for beginners. The bouldering was fun but challenging! Make sure that if you bring children you have someone that can lift you (adult)
