I recently gave birth to my son 4 weeks early at Shady Grove Hospital. I had a wonderful experience with the hospital and all of it's staff. I was well taken care of and felt that I had the individual attention of all the nurses. Special shout outs are Sheila, Marcia, Judi, Michelle, Alexis, Hannah and Evie and many others. Thank you for making our stay special and comfortable!

I recently gave birth at Shady Grove Medical with our second boy. Overall experience was good. All the nurses were absolutely wonderful. When you give birth, you see several nurses. Everyone was willing to help and attend to whatever it is that I needed. At one point, we needed assistance on swaddling and they came right away. The last nurse who had me as a patient, Sheila, made sure I understand about mother and baby care. She made sure that my husband heard the conversation and looked at him for validation that he was listening. My only downfall was that I've been suffering from cold/cough and I think it became worse because of how dry the room was at the hospital. I was already drained from labor and birth then on top of it was the constant coughing. Maybe a humidifier , although expensive, may be beneficial in the long run for the patients.

By far, the most excruciating experience. I hope those understand the trauma I experienced-following this visit. I would highly reccomend, how ffecrive their policy is, of not allowing those to be heard. It is strong, that they owner, not many, but especially one person- a new life. It took many months to heal from this time, I would steer CLEAR of the nurses, and further, the food. I would also highlight their malpractice, shady and in more ways than one, staff, working behind the scenes, to make sure your stay is WAY past intended and desired patients needs or asssesments. It is incredible, the disrespect, diagnosis that is false, and care that is ugly and wrong.
I make every effort to show those how I’ll, not just the system, but also the practices are in this facility are. It is clear they are hidden, and allow off patients and wrong standard of conduct to direct and steer their choices. I highly reccomend the staff, to be reviewed, especially the nurses, and doctors-whom claim to know how to effectly treat those in such conditions of ill. I make every move to highlight their I’ll-choices-safe-making ways of profiting off of patients-even when they are in plain sight. It is disgraceful, sick, and untrustworthy. I hope it is clear, they are re getting away, have, and will continue to if they are re not opened and clearly searched, for more of their wrongdoing. Not just as a patient, but also as a server of society. It’s is wrong, in all ways, how they have treated one and MANY services and patients.

I moved to The Daley 6 months ago from an older apartment community in another part of the nearby area. I immediately was struck by the attractiveness of this coomunity, and the apartment is bright, airy, comfortable. I rarely even need heat . My husband and I like it a bit cooler than most but the apartment rarely goes below 68 degrees. Perfect for us. There is lots of kitchen storage, more than adequate closet space, beautiful Moen plumbing fixtures. Our electric bill is less than our old place and it was half the space we occupy now. There are lots of social activities here, a hard-working and pleasant staff in the rental office and maintenance, and being a block from the Metro is wonderful. It is truly just outside the door. Starbucks 150 feet from the entrance.All in all, a great deal.

I was sent to the ER there after experiencing minor breathing problems two days after giving birth at another hospital, BIG MISTAKE!!! It was a slow day for them, so they turned my minor ailment into an almost 3 day circus and close to $6,000 in medical bills, that's almost what the other hospital charged for delivering my baby and caring for my newborn and I for 2 days. Most of the nurses and staff I interacted with were very nice and caring, so that's the one plus! One doctor tried to get me to orally regurgitate my entire medical history to her while I have on a breathing tube, having my blood drawn, hooked up to an IV, with 2 day old baby next to me when she could have easily pulled my charts! Yikes!

I thought their billing practices are very unethical and inefficient! Especially for an institution with religious affiliaton! They were in constant communication with my insurance during my stay and I told them which insurance I had, yet they sent me all these bills and claimed they didn't didn't have my insurance information on file. You get a separate bill for EVERYTHING! I'm surprised they didn't bill me for using the restroom! I got a separate bill from a doctor for $1,200 just for the first hour of "critical care" in addition to all the other charges, really????????? I'm a healthy 32 yr old! The prestige of the medical profession is at the risk of being sullied by the sheer greed of these doctors! I will write my Congressman to explore the possibility of reviewing the billing practices of these hospitals!

I delivered my baby at this hospital. All nurses and doctors at labor and delivery and at mother and baby units were awesome. They were so professional, friendly and caring! Units are very comfortable. My baby and I got everything we needed and are happy.

The hospital has spent a lot of money to upgrade the inside but the service is still subpar. Nurses disappear and ignore requests. You have to ask multiple times for anything including someone to help assist to bathroom. Spend the money on hiring top staff that are compassionate and caring.

We just spent several days at Shady Grove Adventist hospital after delivering our baby girl. Growing up we were always uneasy being in a hospital setting, however, this has truly been such a comfortable experience.
The nursing staff, the doctors, and all of the other staff that we encountered always treated us so warmly.
The entire experience felt more like a hotel stay than a stay at the hospital -- and that is saying a lot!

I don't get all the one star reviews. Mom here on a visit from out of state had heart issues at 1:30am Saturday morning. Drove her here as it was the closest hospital. Got admitted in a few minutes. Staff was all wonderful. Fairly large team got to work on her right away and handled a serious heart rhythm issue.

Everybody was super nice and professional.

They kept her there a long time afterwards but I think that's pretty standard to make sure she was stabilized. She ended up getting admitted which does take a while.

I think with any ER visit you should plan it's gonna take hours. But given that, I thought care was really quite excellent. I'll update or do another review if post-ER treatment is not as excellent.

I'm happy with the nursing staff, but just because you went to medical school and have the abilities to save lives does not mean your job is to judge. Your job is to heal and when someone with elevated blood pressure, high heart rate and anxiety issues walks into the ER, your job is to care for the patient. Do not pass your past experience with past patience onto someone you know nothing about.

Don't go here if you want any type of timely, competent medical care. Feel like playing Russia roulette with medicine? Then Shady Grave is the place to risk your life. Just don't try to call them, someone who barely speaks English will inevitably hang up on you when they become bored or don't know the answer to a question.

I came to the ER because I was having problems with my asthma because of a bad cold. My pulse ox levels were low, so I was given a nebulizer treatment and oxygen right away. It helped some, but I was still having a hard time breathing. I guess not being able to breath well and having a low pulse ox (even after a breathing treatment) is not enough to be seen at this ER. I waited for almost 4 hours and was not checked on once. I ended up just leaving and going to a different ER where I was seen by a doctor right away. Their ER is abysmally slow, but their Billing Dept sure is speedy. Never again will I go to Shady Grove Adventist.

I didn't know what emergency means in hospitals when the patient go to emergency check up.
The patient have to wait at least 2 hours to see the doctor.is this the the emergency service work for the patient. It's crazy if patient dies within waiting period than who will be responsible, that the worst scenario.
Even going for emergency check up is also the worst scenario. It's driven me crazy why the in emergency , the doctor can't see the patient immediately rather than let them waiting 2 hours. That doesn't seem like emergency service. It's totally regular service in week days like seeing your primary doctor.

Please say something about these horrible emergency service in hospitals.

NEVER IN MY LIFE have I witnessed such an abysmal and awful hospital. The Nurses and Doctors are simply unresponsive. One Nurse flat out told me that I was unappreciative of American hospitals and that Hospitals in my country probably "don't even have beds." I was astonished at how a nurse could dare to say that to someone, and especially something racist to a Russian immigrant. I didn't even say anything aggressive or mean to the nurse. In Russia at least I would be treated with respect for being a patient Anyway they made me sit in the hospital for literally five hours just so they could prescribe me ibuprofen. I was in distress and felt awful but they treated me like a parasite. I love American Hospitals and have never had a problem with them until I encountered this one. I will not be returning to this hospital.
