Great staff and great prices. Always one of my first places to visit when shopping for a new (used) firearm.
Only place I'll buy my guns if I can help it. Awesome staff who remember your name and do whatever they can to help you out. Bought 3 guns there so far and all excellent experiences.
Decent selection of guns. Nice lay-away program. The sales staff for the most part are good. The gunsmith treats most like your a dumass and I know he has to be sooooooooooo smart. But most people go for help, not to be talked down to. he doesn't have people skills what so ever. You can do better in price other places, but Ace will take care of most issues.
If you need a gun, it's worth checking it out. I still buy there because most of the sales staff are pretty good. But there are times when you feel like they are blowing you off or ignoring you. They just don't seem to be all that friendly.
Extremely helpful and spent a ton of time showing me stuff.
Edit: went back again, still extremely helpful! Great service!
I've always had great customer service here. The staff I've dealt with have been patient and answered any questions I've ever asked when making a purchase. Prices can be a little high on new guns, but you can find some great deals if you keep an eye out for their specials.
Employees not very friendly treat you like you don't know anything
The two times I’ve walked in there I’ve asked myself the same thing on the way out, “ who buys from these guys? They couldn’t care less”. Thank Goodness there are other shops to buy from.
Knowledgeable staff, wide gun selection and best prices
Excellent service and staff just wish store was bigger hard to get around in wheelchair
The Good: Great selection of new or used firearms, ammo and accessories. Sale-tags prominently display longarm model and price which I really enjoy about Ace.
The Bad: The parking lot is awful and it can be a pain getting into and out of since the shop is on Rt.19 with a barrier between northbound and southbound traffic you'll need to make a U-turn either coming or going. Prices are a little high compared to what you can find online.
The Ugly: This place gets busy and customer service suffers significantly. 2 out of 3 times I actually ask an employee for help, I am curtly rebuffed, 'working with someone else,' or even ignored.
I've spent thousands of dollars here over the years and while I enjoy my purchases - truly do - I cant say the "customer experience" is positive in any way.
I had mixed experiences here. Out of 3 visits, I had great customer service on 2 of the 3 visits. Both gentleman on those visits were friendly, professional, and educational. The third time, when I actually intended to order, the experience was quite the converse. I was quoted a price above the MSRP on the manufacturer's website and when I said that I had talked to someone at the store 2 days earlier, the response was, "Why didn't you order it then?" I walked out, checked two other stores, and bought the same product a couple hours later where it was in stock and $50 under the price Ace quoted me. I won't be visiting Ace again.
I have purchased firearms from Ace and was very pleased with both the price and service. Where they went well above and beyond was their service. When I had a problem with one of my handguns. Keith was an incredible source of knowledge that helped me greatly. I would recommend Ace to anyone considering the purchase of any kind of firearm.
Very, very disappointing. I haven't been to Ace in many years but have recently regained my interest in guns. The last time I was at Ace was so long ago they were located in town.
So, I went to Ace this evening quite prepared to purchase a handgun, or two, and/or perhaps some other items - laser sight, etc., etc. I was actually kind of pumped. I had done some research about guns I might be interested in - compact .45s. I was quickly disappointed. The salesperson was almost incommunicado. When looking at two somewhat comparable guns I asked, "What are the main difference, what features distinguish these two guns - pros/cons". Answer was "price". I foolishly thought one version of one of the guns had a steel frame and received something of a scorned look and a sarcastic toned, "they all have composite frames". And being the stupid customer that I am, I wasn't aware of what is included in the various "kits" in which the guns are packaged.
Making matters worse was that there were other salesmen within earshot (one did provide an answer to one question) who failed to intervene and resuscitate the sales effort.
So, in my eyes Ace went from hero to zero in about 5 minutes. When getting info out of a sales person is like pulling teeth and there's attitude to boot and other employee witnesses are complicit, it makes for a bad customer service experience.
General thought:
Miserable customer service (perhaps not indicative, but on full display for me).
Painful location - entrance off divided highway requiring u-turn when entering from the one direction and necessitating a right turn on departure. Not a great parking situation, either.
Competition must be increasingly formidable with increaing online sales applying downward pressure on pricing. What differentiates brick and mortars from online? Customer service.
Ace's prices are suspect relative to online competition.
Add it up
Iffy pricing
Painful location
Poor customer service (this may actually be an indication that things aren't going well as businesses may ironically compromise on labor costs at precisely the time when quality customer care is the only thing that can improve business).
Upshot
I'll shop elsewhere.
